We booked a float trip through Glacier Guides during our trip to Glacier Natl Park. We have a young daughter who is generally nervous so I didn't think she was ready for the white water rafting and she was also not heavy enough for that yet.
We arrived on the day of our trip and the place was bustling with activity. We were fitted for life jackets. It seemed like 95% of people there were there for white water rafting. We got on a bus and headed to where we'd be floating. (Flathead River if my memory serves me correct). We had enough people for two rafts and we all loaded in. Our guide was a young college kid and despite claiming it was his first summer being a guide he was very knowledgable about the area and the wildlife in the area. The trip was beautiful. We saw absolutely no wildlife on this particular day which was disappointing but clearly not the company's fault. Towards the end they said people could jump in the water if they wanted so my daughter and I jumped into the VERY cold water for a quick swim around. It was fun. Towards the end I got a bit board and I think our daughter would actually have liked the white water rafting because her favorite parts were when we went over "bumps." (she was still 20 lbs too light for white water though).
Overall it was a great trip and a well run company. I would definitely recommend.
