Wish I could give more than 5 stars! We booked a hiking/rafting trip with Glacier Guides and so glad we did. Our guide Dean was absolutely incredible. We had never taken a guided hike before, and he really took the time to point out all of the different plant life, berries, and tell us stories about the history of the park. After the hike, we relaxed by the river and enjoyed the delicious bag lunch they packed for us. Then it was time for the rafting trip. We were so lucky to be put on a boat with the Trail Crew reunion. Everyone was so friendly and it was so great getting to know them and hear all of their stories about the history of the park. I had never been whitewater rafting (my wife has), and the river was calm but that did not take away from the fun of paddling through rapids even though they weren't overly intense. We felt so comfortable with Dean as our guide, as he even had to help out another boat that encountered some trouble along the way. The combination of the beautiful day, excellent hike, and meeting Dean and the trail crew made for one of the best days ever, and was a great way to celebrate my 30th birthday. Thank you again and we will see you guys next year!!

“Highly Recommend this Rafting Company”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 2, 2013

We took the 2-3.hour raft ride. Our guide, Trey was excellent. He gave great instructions and you could tell he loved being on the water. He was informative and referenced several books he read or was reading that supplemented the information he provided. All the staff members at the base were extremely friendly and helpful. About the raft ride - we especially liked that they limited the raft to 6 people whereas we passed another raft with 10 people in it! We went late in the season so the water was lower and not as challenging but Trey made sure we made the most of the water conditions. We want to back again. Wish Pennsylvania was closer.

“calm slow river ride, good guide tho”

We chose the full day raft trip but would have been more happier with just the half day for half the cost. The lunch was not my favorite. And the afternoon ride was so boring I about fell asleep and much too long. Our guide did a great job and was knowledgeable, enjoyed her!

“A fun way to experience the park”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 1, 2013

We did the half day hike and raft, and had a very good experience. The 6-mile hike was the right level of difficulty for most, and the rafting was pleasant. The rapids weren't overly challenging - my wife had never been rafting before, and she had no trouble at all. The half-day hike and raft would probably be fine for most children age 10 and up. The company provided a bag lunch which was actually rather good.

“Saddle and Paddle is a great trip in August”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 31, 2013

My wife and I took a day off from hiking to do the 2hr horseback and 3hr raft in trip in mid August. The horseback ride was a liesurely trip through the forest with Swan Mtn at Apgar. The Paddle was with a guide and 4 others on mostly tame (cause it was August not June) , cool water. The included bag lunch was excellent - good quality sandwich meat, cookies, fruit and chips. All the guides were professional and entertaining.
