Plenty of wildlife access to see deer and birds. Great fishing if you hike a ways. Beautiful area that should be visited.

Very rustic, including the parking lot by the old barn. Not a well traveled path once you get into the area, though. We hit it during the tail end of spring migration, so saw a fair number of birds.

We had arrived in Silver City a lot earlier than anticipated and went on a drive through the beautiful countryside,we were following the trail of the Mountain spirit highway heading for lake Roberts when we came upon this little beauty. What a place to stop and picnic or just spend a few minutes to enjoy the scenery.

Directions in a previous review are great, and this is a wonderful spot to enjoy the river and explore the ruins of a small house. However, Oursmall car had a hard time going up the steep, rutted gravel driveway to get back to 35.

During our drive on the Trail of the Mountain Spirit National Scenic Byway we enjoyed the sites along the Mimbres River. Our drive was from the Royal John Mine Road north to Lake Roberts. Very nice scenery and wildlife were observed and the cool temps made for an enjoyable afternoon drive.
