“Great local joint”

Yankie Creek Coffee House
Restaurant details
Reviewed July 28, 2013

One of those little local joints that's great to duck into and grab a quick snack. Amazingly, their deserts are out of this world. Chocolate cake and homemade ice cream with flavor you wouldn't expect from this unpretentious little coffee house. Even if you're not from the area, you won't feel out of place going in here- the staff are sociable no matter who you are.

Atmosphere is comfortable. You get great coffee, fresh pastries, and a welcome that makes you stay for more. Locals come here to catch up with friends. They have live music on occasion that is interesting and well done.

Coffee is one vice I need every morning, and nothing gets me off to a better day than a jolt of caffeine. The espresso drinks are very good -- I had a mocha that was probably the second-best I've ever had; a little too sweet but the chocolate was perfect.

The atmosphere is relaxed and lacking all pretense.

The coffee is strong enough to (almost) "put starch in your shorts". No complaints.

we stopped for drinks to warm us up on a cold day. our family of four was a little slow in making decisions, but that wasn't a problem at all. the gentleman who made our drinks also chatted with us and welcomed us back for live music in the evening.

Owner, Mary Ann is a delight! While making the best soy chai latte in town—she also gives a historical perspective of this former 1860's mining town. Pet friendly—and how! Yankie Creek mascot, (Schnoodle) Becker is on hand to welcome canine and human customers.
