“Continues to be outstanding!”
Reviewed September 23, 2013

We try to visit Silver City at least once a year, and always plan on at least one meal at Shevek and Co. We ate there on 9/21/13 and were as delighted with the food, service and ambiance as always in the past. Each dish (we order several tapas size for the two of us) is abundant in size, delightful in taste, always individually prepared, and perfect in presentation. The owner and waiter are very knowledgeable about each dish, and enjoy educating us about the contents and preparation. We have eaten here several times and never found them rude or insensetive as reported in a recent review. We look forward to or next visit to Silver, and Shevek!

“Extraordinary meal.....as always”
Reviewed September 22, 2013

I have eaten here at least 8 times in the last 3 months, the last 2 after being up 36+ hours with work. I walked in and said " please make me 3 courses of light, healthy and spicy food. What arrived was the best gazpacho I've ever tasted, an artichoke and cannelli bean salad and a pizza on a chick pea crust. Amberwind matched wines perfectly.
Silver City is very lucky to have this fantastic restaurant .

“A Superior dining experience”
Reviewed September 12, 2013

My wife and I went to Shevek's upon recommendation from the lodge where we were staying. This is a gem of a restaurant that shouldn't be missed. The service was excellent and the food exquisite. Chef Shevek personally gave us suggestions based on the foods we like most. I started with a cold roasted tomato soup that had a hint of smoked paprika that fooled me into thinking it would be quite spicy. The heat never came. Delicious! My main entree was roasted shrimp wrapped in crepes, topped with a medium spicy cream sauce....excellent.
My wife started with a scallop based seafood bisque that she thoroughly enjoyed. That was followed by small sweet bell peppers that were stuffed with salmon, shrimp and bay scallops. She totally enjoyed the meal.
The presentation was truly a sight to behold to include edible, organic flowers.
The meal was following up with delicious desserts that are made in-house. I had a chocolate cake with raspberry filling topped with chocolate genache. My wife has chocolate mousse that compared to nothing she has ever had before. It did not include gelatin like so many others. It was made with melted Belgian chocolate, cream and whipped egg whites. Yum.
Hats off to a five star dining experience at value pricing.
One additional important note. You can order any of the appetizers or entrees in three sizes. Tapa - sampler size; Mezze - lighter size; Entree - for larger appetites. I had the Mezze size for main entree that consisted of two crepes. The Tapa size would have had one crepe, while the Entree size would have had four.

“Food to Savor”
Reviewed September 8, 2013

What a delightful blend of French, Spanish, and Middle Eastern influences at this great-find-of-a-restaurant in Sliver City. Every touch and flavor says "unique," from the blend of spices on the Tunisian Rice to the fresh and flavorful beet salad. Dinner is not just a culinary adventure, but Chef Shevek is delighted to make it an educational one as well. We enjoyed the tapas-sized dishes and shared a variety of plates. Just when you think you are finished, you are tempted by the delightful and seasonal desserts, French Press coffee, and a glass of port. Thanks for a wonderful meal!

“A real gem!”
Reviewed August 20, 2013

Silver City, NM is a great place to live but on the road to nowhere. Shevek & Co would be a great place in any large city, I am glad we have it in our small town. Chef Shevek prepares each dish to order from a very large and very unique menu. He is a master with spices and presentation. Each menu item can be ordered in one of three sizes. You can order several of the tapas size items and enjoy a varied dining experience. The wine list is excellent, not the run of the mill restaurant offerings. The truly great thing about the wines is most can be ordered by the glass! This allows you to match the wine with each course. Service is excellent.
