We booked the Marriott Brooklyn Bridge for a weekend visit with family. The rates were reasonable and the location great. There is a senior discount on rates. All of the staff were welcoming, gracious and helpful. We received a nice email from the manager before we arrived offering assistance with anything we needed. The doormen gave us options on taxis or car companies (a private option to a taxi) and told us the difference between yellow NYC taxis and green borough taxis. The borough taxis don't go into Manhattan. The bar was good sized but still warm and cozy and not one of those ultra modern cold lounges. It sold Starbucks coffee in the mornings. In the afternoon there was a free coffee and cookies stand in the lobby. Our room was on the back side of the hotel and very quiet. It did have coffee and an un-stocked mini-fridge. The room was good sized, and the bath had adequate counter space for toiletries for two people. Nice linens. Pillows in both foam and feather. There are plenty of places to eat and shop and the subway station is a few blocks away. I would stay here again.

Warning on taxis: One yellow NYC taxi driver put us out two blocks after we left the hotel. He thought out destination was in Manhattan, but it was in Brooklyn. He said he was in the wrong lane and would have to cross the bridge. This was a lie. He wanted a more expensive Manhattan destination fare. It is also ILLEGAL! We should have gotten his license number posted in the taxi and reported him, but didn't know that at the time and he really rushed us out of the taxi. The doorman told us what to do next time. If you are not going into Manhattan, the green boro taxis are a better choice since they stay in the boroughs. Of course, sometimes you take what you find.

Room Tip: I always prefer a room on the back side of a NY hotel. The view is not great, but it's quieter and without a lot of street noise. We weren't far from the elevator, but I never heard it or any of the other guests in the hallway.

I have stayed here the night before Court appearances, and I've met many clients in the lobby here. I also work in the lounge, and lunch here, regularly. This place will never get in your way. Good internet connection. Plugs all over for your devises. Good size desk in the rooms (dark & quiet in there too..you'll sleep fine). Clean. Good fare in the bar/ dining room. Tables to work on in the lounge Real short walk to Court and subways. Easy ample parking. Staff only helps, never bugs you. And the place looks good.

I stayed at the Brooklyn Bridge Marriott in NYC and two ladies at the front desk check in really made me feel exceptionally welcomed; their names are Maria & Cheryl. The staff really are great from the parking garage to the security staff you were greeted warmly. My only complaint was the breakfast when I ordered room service. The money that you spend for the breakfast was gravely over priced for the mediocre quality of the food. The food industry has developed to such a level that it's become the new norm to eat very very well and I thought that the breakfast, in particular, at the Marriott would have reflected that change. I ordered the All American breakfast with the cresoint rolls and the were the same mini crescent shaped rolls you get at BJ's...which aren't true cresoint rolls. The orange juice at the MINIMUM should be Tropicana, but it was a lesser quality brand. I would have preferred it to be freshly squeezed like they offer at other restaurants and Whole Foods.

From the door men to the front desk folks to the food and beverage and housekeeping staff, everyone was the epitome of hospitality. They drank the WIG punch and, with these New Yorkers, it's heartfelt. I'm a gal from the South, in the hospitality business for over 30 years and it's obvious they have a great GM as the attitudes flow from the top down. Carolyn W, the Catering Director is the ultimate professional, Chef Adam is great, Teddy and Eugene are just so nice, even the security guards. Everyone, nice as they can be

Room Tip: Room with a view of the Manhattan skyline!

Enjoyed a relaxing stay. Nice bar, nice people, nice gym/pool and a nice room. If you're looking for something special this isn't it.
It still troubles me that when hotels want to charge $18 a day for internet access which these days is a basic human need! Like it even costs them $18 a month!?
Only gripe though so not all bad.
