Decent hotel in downtown Brooklyn location. Clean rooms, helpful concierges. Popular spot for conventions. Lobby is located on second floor. We had a nice view overlooking Adams Street. Would have preferred to be a bit closer to the Subway, but walking was easy and so was hailing a taxi.

As we have children/grandchildren living in Brooklyn, we stay here several times per year. All aspects of the hotel are first class with the possible exception of the breakfast area. Service is attentive and responsive. Rooms are clean, comfortable and well equipped. The location is very convenient with many excellent restaurants within walking distance. If you need a bit of exercise, you can walk over to Manhattan via the Brooklyn Bridge (just avoid windy/rainy days for this).

Room prices vary widely depending on the time of the week, time of year and events at the new Barclay Center.

Room Tip: We prefer to stay in the "old" building as it is just off the lobby and has only 7 floors.

I have stayed at this hotel a few times. It is very large and impressive. There is a huge lobby, and when you walk in from the street you have to go up an escalator. They have a Panera Right at the corner, so it's very convenient for the kids to go there and eat. You can walk to the Promenade, a spot on Brooklyn where you are perched on a block that overlooks Manhattan Island. It is incredibly gorgeous, romantic, breath taking, unbelievable!!!! The neighborhood is very affluent and artsy. There are gourmet shops, clothing shops, you name it, lots of restaurants that line Montague Street. Great train station at the corner which drops you off in Manhattan just a few stops away. There is even a pool in the hotel, and a restaurant. There is also an area that sells starbucks coffee. There are great rooms that give you a view of the Bklyn. Bridge. Some of the rooms are getting a bit tired, not sure when they are up for an upgrade. The staff is excellent, helpful, diversified and super friendly. I highly recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: try to get a room with a view of the bklyn bridge.

Lovely large room with the comfiest bed ever! Clean sheets every day too. Good for exploring Brooklyn and lower Manhattan. Close to subway and nice deli.
Disliked 4pm check in. Our long flight from Australia arrived 08.30 and we had to fill our day until 4 but they did let us leave our cases.

We recently stayed at this Marriott and I couldn't have been more pleased. I love staying in the Brooklyn Heights area because it's close to good food, always feel very safe, steps away from subway stations and is so much less hectic that staying in Manhattan. All the staff was so very pleasant and helpful. The hotel was extremely clean and the rooms are huge (by New York standards - normal sized for any other city!). I LOVE this hotel and would highly recommend it. It also happened that we went to a banquet there and the food was great. Can't say enough good about this hotel.

Stayed at the Marriott. Got a room with a bit of a view of the Brooklyn Bridge simply by asking. Nice room with a mini fridge which came in handy. Walked the Fulton, Fort Greene Park and Brooklyn Tech area; the DUMBO area; ran and walked over the Brooklyn Bridge and took advantage of the nearby subway stops to go to restaurants and Broadway. Very nice hotel with very friendly and helpful staff. Looking for tours, maps and info...ask the concierge.

If you want wireless for free...get a Marriott credit card, you'll get silver elite status right off the bat, and always free Internet.

The doorman will also get you a car for the airport at almost the same cost as a taxi...but I did take a taxi from the airport.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view of the bridge. High floor.

We stayed here for the TD 5 Boro Bike Ride and so got special room rates. We had to drive into town with our bikes and after the struggle of driving through Brooklyn we were happy to hand our car over to the parking valet at the hotel. Were met by a bellman who helped us navigate our way to the bustling lobby with our bags and bikes. The desk clerk was also extremely helpful in helping us fix a room snafu- a mistake that WE hadmade. Every staff person we met was helpful and friendly. Rooms were clean, comfortable and had everything we needed EXCEPT free wifi. I agree with other reviewers who say this should be included with the price of a room the way running water and electricity are. The hotel's proximity to the Brooklyn Bridge was a plus for us. It took us 10 minutes to ride our bikes to the start of the ride in lower Manhattan and later we walked over to a pub on Beakman St. The walk over the bridge is a great NYC experience. Had breakfast at the hotel restaurant on the day of departure- great service, way over priced. We should have walked a block to a diner.
