New York Marriott at the Brooklyn Bridge
Ranked #12 of 73 Hotels in Brooklyn
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed May 9, 2013

This Marriott is my favorite of them all! I am on the road 43 weeks/year and always happy to return to the Brooklyn Marriott. Staff are excellent, and after a visit or two remember you, often by name. From Angelo in the lobby to Leonard in the Concierge Lounge. And the doormen - don't forget the doormen. They are helpful and friendly, and arrange for cars driven by people who know where they are going (not always the case at other hotels.) I also appreciate the high level of security that is visible. This is a winner.

Room Tip: The South Tower is small and quiet, and the Concierge Lounge is in that tower.

Room was fine, though a little overpriced. Location was great. My main complaint was to do with the Internet. Obviously, we need it, and I've gotten used to this American thing of charging, in this case $14.95 per day. But this Internet service did not include wireless, useless for many of us, especially those with iPads. I won't go back, for that reason.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. I would be grateful if you had a moment to speak with me personally. I would like to share with you that the Brooklyn Marriott is equipped with wireless internet service throughout the hotel. Also, free internet service can be accessed in our public lounge, lobby area and concierge. I hope you will give us another opportunity and have you as our guest again in the future. I hope to hear from you soon. Sam Ibrahim

This is again one of the best welcoming Marriott hotels I have ever stayed at. The stuff were very warm, helpful and enthusiastic. The food offered at the concierge lounge (for Gold & Platinium members) is the best among hundreds of Marriott hotels that I stayed at. The servants need to be careful when they touch food with their hands without using gloves (People like me are watching hhh).
I highly recommend this facility not only because of its short distance from the historic Brooklyn bridge or the closness to the subway stations but also for the awesome crew that try to make you feel you are home!

Keep it up

Have stayed there regularly for some years. Place is always bustling in a good New York way. Staff is friendly and helpful also in a good New York way. Concierge lounge is good.
I agree with other reviews that a renovation is in order.

The City is easily accessible by numerous subway lines or a walk over the Brooklyn Bridge. The immediate neighborhoods are also very interesting. Walk down to Dumbo and walk the waterfront park.
Rooms are expensive, parking is expensive, it's New York -waddayougonnado ?

Seven years ago, Alfred University (a small upstate school near Rochester, NY) starting offering graduate degree programs in Brooklyn. As we began our programs, we chose to stay at the Marriott Brooklyn Bridge for its convenient location (close to our academic space) and for its willingness to offer competitive rates.

We got more than we bargained for...

The quality of the service at the hotel is unmatched by any other hotel we have tried in the NYC area. The staff is exceptional. The "first couple" of the hotel: Angelo (Head Bellman) and Melanie Lisena (Reservation Director), Peterson, Erinson, Meghna, Marie, Anthony, Michael, Julio, Leonard, and Sue - and many others - make the Marriott more than just a place to stay. They make it a place to live. They have become our friends, and our colleagues.

General Manager Sam Ibrahim's leadership and attention to detail has created an environment that has directly impacted our productivity, and has helped us to grow our graduate programs well beyond our initial estimates - and into the largest graduate effort at our University.

Kudos to Sam and the staff at the Brooklyn Marriott! We are looking forward to another 7 years and beyond.

Room & food is expensive. Only cool thing is that you can jog, bike or walk over brooklyn bridge & be in the city but will take you a while. Not exposed much to hospitality like other Marriott's. It is a nice hotel for brooklyn. Room is pretty small for $300a night. Your better off staying at times sq if visiting as a tourist.

We arrived early just after arriving on QM2 and checked bags with valet as it was 11:30 AM. By 11:45 AM we were in room, early checkin.

We had plans for dinner at Le Bernadin in midtown and the concierge Wanda was great. Convinced us to use subway vs taxi to get the NYC experience. She gave us GREAT directions. We survived and enjoyed. When in NYC....

The front desk and the Concierge are truly exceptional. The Valets as well. This hotel is perfectly situated two blocks from ramp to Brooklyn Bridge which my wife amd I walked accross at 10PM. What a great walk after a great Italian dimmer that Wanda arranged.

This hotel may NOT be in Manhattan but it has soul and the best employees. We will stay here again.
