Long lasting local neighborhood British Pub in Brooklyn. Located on Atlantic Avenue way before it became a trendy area and tourist route to Brooklyn Bridge Park. Not fancy or elegant, nor is it meant to be. If you are looking for gourmet food this is not the place. Seriously a pub food menu. Enjoyable pub atmosphere. Can be very crowded for sport events especially futball tournaments.
My personal favorites are the Scotch Eggs, Fish and Chips, Chicken Fingers and Chicken Curry. Truly Brit style. Can also get Bangers and Mash and the rarely found Ploughmans Lunch. The chalk boards always indicate the specials of the day. Their Root veggies are good.
The portions are large so sometimes I will order two appetizers instead of a full meal. The soups are good but unfortunately they do not serve cup portions. I find that a full soup and entree to be overwhelming.
