We had brunch with a group of six. Each of us had something different that we loved. I had a crep with chicken and mushroom. We bought French bread and pastries to take to our cousins house for dinner and they were enjoyed by all. The service was friendly and very professional. I want to return many times!

If you are looking for a good croissant and a good cup of care au lait in Carroll Gardens , this is the spot for you. Surrounded by French chotchkes and with pleasant outdoor tables one can waste a pleasant time. If only they wouldn't play such inappropriate music.

Provence en Boite is a landmark for French food in Brooklyn. It's owner, Jean Jaques Bernat, is a decorated French chef who has won prestigious awards in French cuisine. He and his wife are also very welcoming and take the time to speak with their customers.

The peak service for PEB is brunch - it is excellent, people in the neighborhood know it and that's when the restaurant is bursting at the seams. Dinner service is also great, however, always with specials that have a Provencal theme. It's a little quieter then and the selection of excellent appetizers, main courses, desserts and wines make it a nice place to go to enjoy a long, satisfying meal at non-Manhattan prices and without the deafening noise that has become so common in NYC restaurants.

Besides the restaurant, PEB also operates as a boulangerie-patisserie, meaning you can go in to buy breads and sweets to go. At this point, it is probably necessary to point out the Jean Jacques' specialty is pastries and that his desserts never disappoint, ever!

The staff at PEB is very professional and courteous, engaging and efficient. The restaurant always has a good selection of wines to choose from as well as a good beer list.

If you are coming to Brooklyn and have a craving for French food, this is the place to go!
