My gym buddies and I lunch here about. once a week, because we live (and exercise) in the neighborhood. Its out of the way, on a non-commercial street, so its never crowded. Everything, even the pita bread, is made fresh and its all delicious. Its very casual, but the service is friendly and accommodating to special requests and substitutions.

If you want good quality freshly cooked yet low priced Middle-Eastern food, this is the place for you.

My girlfriend thought the falafel here was the best she'd ever tasted, whilst I had some delicious chicken in pitta bread.

We only stumbled on this by chance whilst wandering through Brooklyn, but I can't recommend it highly enough.

If you are visiting NYC, consider walking over the Brooklyn Bridge, swinging over to the promenade, admiring the view and then . . . go to Tutt Cafe. This place serves honest, delicious and surprisingly healthy fare. The pitas are all stretched by hand. They make their own hot sauce. The waiters have lively smiling faces and the prices . . . I am almost embarrased each time I get the bill. They are BYOB and there is a terrific wine shop called Montague Liquors on Montague Street. Michael knows everthing and he can hook you up with a great bottle. So, between the BYOB and the very thrifty fare, a family of four can eat for $40. There is a little outdoor area, if the weather is nice. The indoor area is modestly decorated, but clean.
