“Overall a good experience”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 18, 2012

Pequena, as its name connotes, is a very small restaurant in the Fort Greene area of Brooklyn, New York. Nothing fancy, no credit cards accepted, but very nice people striving to serve their patrons well. The margaritas were indeed very good and strong. The food was legitimate enough. Generous portion of guacamole that was well spiced. The pork tacos came in generous portions, but could have been seasoned a little more. Other than that, it was a very good find.

“fun place, food is pretty good too”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 29, 2012

take cash, no credit cards!

had some fun food and drinks, very late dinner after theater in Brooklyn. Our party had guacamole and salsa, chips, nachos, fish tacos and the half chicken plus beers. Good food, good portions, everything seems fresh and is fast. Good service, reasonable prices.

“Great Margaritas”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 23, 2012

Great Little joint! my friend lives in the neighborhood so we decided to stop in. It has only a few tables so get their early or late. Take out is an option too! The plantains are delish and the tostadas were great. The margaritas were good and strong. A real jem in a nice little neighborhood!

Smallish restaurant with good, reaonably priced food and prompt friendly service. What more could you ask for?

“Cute, local Mexican eatery!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 5, 2011

Went at 8pm Sunday, Labour Day holiday weekend. No problem getting a table. Very cool inside - Dia de los muertos! (Day of the Dead) decor. Not over done but suitable to the venue.
The food was good. Had the shared sample appetiser (entree) and then the quasadillas (shredded chicken and pork) as our main.
It's taking a while to get used to carrying cash everywhere, as in NZ we have EFTPOS literally EVERYWHERE! So US$46 FILLED us up and I took home a very nice piece of Key Lime pie TOO! Good service without the overly attentive nature of some restaurants. Maybe it's my 'thing' but being bugged every 5 min to ask if everything is ok becomes intrusive. If there's a problem then let me ask!
Good little local for us to walk to. Good food and service. Do try the Sangria!
