Was here recently for a dinner, the place looks very nice and service is very very good. The only problem is that they 8 course tasting menu seems way too fancy for a nice dinner. Not even the level of fanciness was the issue, just the taste of everything was way overdone, like the chef is trying just a bit too much. Considering for two couples our bill was almost $400 I expected much more. Don't feel like the price and food is adequate.

A couple of failed reservations attempts later We were finally with the special people and being led up the narrow staircase into what looked like a conversation both complete with rolling shades. Yes, total privacy! You'd think for that kind of service they'll charge but the menu was absolutely democratic. The waiter rises the shades to deliver your order and then disappears once more. So, the Tuna carpaccio ($14) is to die for, the octopus ($8) is amazing and very raw. While the portions are small they are surprisingly filling. The whole dinner was sublime! And if the food wasn't delightful enough the jazz selection was simply transcending! I LOVED my dinner! I can't wait to eat the octopus again. I think I'm on a Japanese food thing lately...

Zenchiki is always good. The sake is fantastic. I like them all: from milky ones to the dessert ones. The combination of the food in the omakasei is so delicious. Love going here. It is a bit expensive and sometimes we leave hungry. But otherwise. Great!!!!

What a cool spot. My husband and I ate there the night we got engaged and it was just perfect. The atmosphere is what will bring you back. It is super dark in there and very private because they have bamboo curtains hanging in between each table. That said, although you can't see anyone, you can definitely still hear them. Another cool thing is that every table has a little ringer button, and when you need someone, you just press it. Otherwise, they pretty much try to leave you alone. There is no sushi, if you are a sushi lover, you are going to need to expand your taste buds. From what I understand the cuisine is more traditional to what you would actually have in a Japanese restaurant. They also have a large selection of SAKE, which they only serve cold. Try the Dassai Nigori, it's delicious.

This is a great place to have a very nice romantic meal. The food is amazing and the atmosphere is incredible! Make sure you look at the pictures from the website, the place is not well marked, which to me, makes it even a better experience. The private booths are very cool and remember to push the button at the end of the table when you are ready to order or need help!
