“Great Beer, Great Burgers”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 10, 2013

Excellent beers at this german-style beergarden. It's nice in the summer to take the ferry from Manhattan to the Williamsburg stop and then walk over for some afternoon beers and then dinner. The beers are obviously great, and there is also a menu from the kitchen and a separate grill, which has a menu of its own. The burgers are absolutely awesome, and the house mustard is delicious.

Definitely a must.

“European beer hall in Brooklyn”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 13, 2012

We went to the beer hall after our Brooklyn Brewery tour. The sausages off the grill with fries and kraut was good and the beer tasting on tuesday nights was good as well! It was $10 for 4 tastings (totalling about .5 liters).

“Bier und Brezel!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 29, 2012

On our bike tour through Brooklyn we made a pitstop at the Radegast Biergarten. It's a great place in a cool neighborhood. They have a good beer selection and the Brezels are fresh.
The service is good and the waitresses are dressed up nicely.
It's not so much a real Garten but a hall with large gaps in the roof and walls. So actually it's feels a bit like sitting outside.
There're other bars/restaurant in the US that try the Biergarten concept but fail and my wife knows because she grew up in the south of Germany so she's been to a bunch. In a couple of days she's again, dressed up in her Dirndl at the all-time Biergarten: the Oktoberfest in Muenchen.
Radegast will definitely earn extra points if they train their waitresses like the ladies on the Oktoberfest, powerlifting crazy amounts of beer.

“fun time”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 8, 2012

This actually was not our original destination on this visit to brooklyn. On a warn sunday we were heading for a brewery that for a mysterious reason was closed until 5pm. Our friends knew of this place, so being hot and thirsty it seemed like an easy decision. They obviously have mostly german beers and although I tend to prefer IPA's every beer we tried was fresh, cold and tasty. I especially liked the Weihenstephaner Vitus, might have misspelled that, and the Krusovice Imperial. We tried some sausages and they were great. If you're in brooklyn on a hot day a german beer garden is a good place to cool off. Well worth the visit.

“I love this place!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 18, 2012

I love this place ...Radegast has a great selection of beers. The vibe is good both in the large (indoor) beergarden as well as inside by the bar. It's great to chat with the other people sitting next to you ... everyone is very relaxed. No-one takes him/herself serious.

I have been a few times and on a few days of the week they also have live music. It's worth checking out the schedule.

The food menu was good but not amazing; I absolutely love the bar food section though where they sell sausages and burgers straight from the grill with sauerkraut, fries and a great selection of mustard, etc. ... that tastes absolutely declicious and is very very reasonably priced.
