Charming little restaurant with pleasant outdoor seating and wonderful food, particularly the appetizers. It's great for brunch or lunch, with a more interesting menu than most places, and perfect for diners who like to share. Kale salad, falafal-crusted artichokes, dips and warm pita,
fresh sardines -- perfection.

Very interesting tastes due to spices combinations. We tasted meat balls (6 balls without side dish) and lamb hash. Nice interior design and atmosphere. Liked the place!

Olea is a quaint spot in BK that had an amazing happy hour and in a great neighborhood! Great food for great prices! Have the Potatas Bravas! $3-5 glasses of wine between 4-7p and $4-6 tapas between 4:30-7pm. Nice staff who were attentive for the most part, I was the only one seated outside and as a server I totally understand being easily unnoticed.

This past weekend we experienced a delightful dinner at Olea in Brooklyn. We were visiting our kids in NYC and had a concert to go to at BAM in Brooklyn (an incredibly energetic interesting organization) and they suggested Olea. It was a really fun dinner.

This is a small Spanish-oriented restaurant that serves both regular entrees and tapas. Because we were a bit early we overlapped happy hour and we were able to order a wide range of tapas for half price as well as drinks. It was like falling into faux- Spanish gastronomical heaven.

As there were six of us, we decided to order all of the about 10 tapas dishes that were available. It was a potpourri of wonderful spices and flavors and turned out to be a great decision. The half priced drinks included a nice barbera ($4) so the vinophiles were happy and the others swilled interesting specialty cocktails. We topped it off by sharing a tasty paella which was chalk full of tasty fish.

The servers and hostess could not have been nicer. They were fun, informed and very understanding of the needs of a large table. The place is crowded and the noise rises. I found it to be the great buzz of a happy and eclectic crowd, however, and not at all disturbing. Tables are close and it is a bit hard to get around when it fills up.

All this was had for about $125 for six people thanks to the happy hour wonder.

And it will fill up as this is a really nice neighborhood restaurant where you will have a great informal time. I want to go back but there are so so many fun and interesting places in Brooklyn.

Well done Olea

We went to Olea for my birthday dinner, as we anted a quick (read: not drawn out with lots of formality) meal in a place with a lively atmosphere. We have two small children at home, so we just ran out for about 90 minutes. When we arrived, it was lively and we opted to sit at the bar for faster service. The sangria - both red & white - were yummy, as were all the foods we tried. I love the fried chick peas and a salmon special they had. Between the two of us, I think we ordered 6 tapas and it was a good amount, bordering on too much. We left stuffed & happy.
