“The Bushwick Mystique”
Reviewed January 12, 2013

Out of towners wouldn't understand this neighborhood. Hipster heaven with parsnips and hominy. Fresh, tasty, eclectic farm to table menu. Noisy but convivial. Staff genuinely pleasant and professional. "Lounge" downstairs looks like your scary uncle's basement rec room. Don't go down alone.

“Fine, Ecclectic Mix of Northeast Quisine”
Reviewed October 20, 2012

If you like rustic, home made, quality, and savory American food, highlighting the culinary traditions of New England, this is a place to hit. Fun but low key atmosphere, very up-bright and eager to serve staff, fine selection of craft ales and artisan beers, and farm style cooking that cant be matched in Brooklyn. In an up and coming neighborhood, those looking for that perfect corner to lay back and savor some of North Brooklyn's finest cuisine should make a stop in here. Come late summer, as often a well pampered, loved, and indulgently fed hog is freshly butchered and feasted upon for a week. The restaurant sources its meats and cheese from local, sustainable, organic, and animal-pasturing farms, and the produce comes from many local organic sources, some even in the same neighborhood. You wouldnt be disappointed by the brunch drink specials either!

“Solid Eats in Bushwick”
Reviewed September 4, 2012

The Kingdom was the first quality restaurant to establish in the Jefferson Stop area. Small unique menu that changes. Same meal would be triple in Manhattan.

“My fave local restaurant. Menu always changes!”
Reviewed August 24, 2012

This is one of my favourite places to eat. They use locally sourced ingredients, have seasonal dishes on the menu, the portions are a nice size (not huge so your stuffed but no so small you leave hungry) and the atmosphere is lovely. Small and intimate, a nice chilled vibe. The staff are always really friendly and will do anything to help, and they know the menu really well no matter what it is. Definitely worth a visit!

“My Kingdom for a Bloody Mary and Fried Chicken Dinner”
Reviewed May 28, 2012

Felt like I was going a bit back in time...like one of those nondescript East Texas places my Dad chose on the long trips from the OC to Granny's in NE Georgia. Fast forward 40 years and I'm in Bushwick and all grown-up and sipping the best Bloody Mary I have ever had in my life. Watching the bartender was like watching a ballet...as he mixed and muddled and created magic elixirs to soothe the soul and excite the senses. I ordered Fried Chicken...what can I say, I'm half Southern...it was tasty and delicious and the collards...I have never had such wondrous greens...they were magical.
