Hotel Le Bleu
Ranked #18 of 72 Hotels in Brooklyn
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed December 30, 2013 via mobile

Our son lives within a ten minute walk of le Bleu, so its location in Brooklyn on 4th Av was perfect. Getting to Manhatten via taxi or subway was either time consuming or expensive. The restaurants in walking distance are quite good and Brooklyn museums and parks are within 30 minute walk.
The hotel itself is clean and the staff is friendly, courteous and helpful. The rooms are spacious and well appointed.
The two problem areas are the unpleasant room view of the immediate surroundings (NY skyline IS visible, however) and the absence of a pleasant lounge and/or bar area.

Unique, comfortable, and quiet with breakfast included and brought to your room. Short walk to subway and fast trip to Manhattan and to all of Brooklyn and Queens as well. We stay here every time visiting family in Brooklyn and going to Manhattan. Friendly and efficient staff. Special thanks to Amanda and Mike during our visit over Christmas. 10% discount to returning guests!

Room Tip: Best rooms on higher floors.

I agree with all the positive reviews and just want to add that I am in a wheelchair and the bathroom, and room size made our trip marvelously easy. Accessible room has a roll in shower. Best facilities I've seen in a hotel. Free parking is nice too.

Hotel lLe Bleu was the ideal location for us to attend a celebration in Brooklyn. Continental breakfast was a nice touch, delivered to our door. Extremely courteous and pleasant staff.
Lady Liberty was in the distance, but you've got to be on a top floor to see her.

Hotel Le Bleu has really unique rooms following the blue theme. The breakfast served to your room daily was great and always on time. Melissa at the front desk was always super friendly. Not far from the subway and from some cool bars and restaurants. Stayed here for business since hotels are limited in Brooklyn and would definitely stay here again if I needed to return to the area.

Can not find a single thing that was negative at Le Bleu. We had a short stay but enjoyed. The room was clan and bright and the service was excellent. Melissa at the desk was friendly and helpful. Our children live in Park Slope so we were familiar with the area. This is the city and you're not in Kansas anymore, so don't expect to see mountain vistas (although we had a good view of Brooklyn Center). Enjoy your stay. The folks here will help you do just that.

Had a wedding to attend in the area, and this hotel one that was most convenient to the event location. We were very happy with our choice! Hotel Le Bleu is not just your run of the mill place. Boutique feel, at a very nice rate. We had a few family members staying here, so we had a total of 4 rooms booked for one night. The hotel will not allow you to call ahead, and request an early check in. We had pictures we had to be a part of at 3pm, and checkin was 3pm, so I wanted to try and get in the room by 2. The person I spoke to on the phone earlier in the week, said that we could try getting there an hour early, and if they have a room available, they would definitely get us in there. So, we showed up early, and it was iffy weather or not they were going to be able to make it happen since they were booked the previous night. Well, in comes one of the front desk employees Amanda, and she saves the day! She did some quick shuffling around, and VOILA, we were in our rooms, and made it on time to the wedding photos! They also were able to put all of the rooms in the general vicinity of each other, which was also very nice, since my father needs some help from time to time in his older age. For instance, he misplaced his room key within 10 minutes of checking in, and whithout any fuss, the front desk gave him a new one, no fuss, no questions asked!

The decor of the hotel is modern contemporary. There was a super big flat screen TV mounted on the wall, with a Bose stereo system. This techie likey! I do have to say, the layout of the room is a little strange. There is no privacy in the room. There are glass walls around the toilet, and the shower. There is a curtain you can pull around the glass shower, but still, a little awkward, because when you step out of the shower, there is nowhere to go, except front and center in the room to get dried and dressed. HELLO! ..but hey.. we are family, so it was all good. :)

There is a very ample mini bar in the room, and for a charge, you can dine and drink a wide assortment of little snacks, candy, beer, and soda. They gave us one snack, and two bottles of water compliments of the house. COOL! They also had a small breakfast that is also included in your stay. A choice of a bagel, muffin, with yogurt, and a small pastry, all of which were of very good quality. Meaning from an actual bakery, and not pre-packaged garbage.

In the end, this was a nice little hotel, that did made our stay a nice one. Thanks again to the wonderful staff there, and especially Amanda who went the extra mile to make sure our stay was a pleasant one.

Room Tip: If you can, see if you can get a balcony room. The view isn't GREAT, but it's a nice amenity...
