clinton hill has had a few openings in the past year and Emily is yet another great addition to the neighborhood. i live right around the corner and was really excited about having a casual italian/pizza place so close by. after several visits, my excitement has not diminished.

while the pizza is the star of the show, do not skip past the rest of the menu. The appetizers are large and great for sharing. My favorites: crispy sprouts (NOT a health food option), smoky carrots, sugar snap peas and the brooklyn bangers.

Of the pizzas i prefer those listed under The Reds. Have had the Classic, Luca, RM3, and the Colony (my current favorite). Of The White I have tried the Q and the North Maple which were ok. The crust on all the pizzas is fantastic. It's mind blowing that they achieve such a crust in their teeny tiny their kitchen space. All pizzas are large enough to easily feed two.

Service is friendly for the most part and Emily (the owner/namesake) makes a point to swing by tables to say hello. Wine list is good and their house cocktails are fun and delicious.

The place is tiny so if you don't get there early, expect a wait. Head to Hanson Dry down the street and have them call you when the table is ready.

I echo PearlG's review. Read about this place on eater and sought it out. Very much worth a visit. It was loud inside, but the food was outstanding. Tried several appetizers, all of which were great, and tried a clam pizza (clams roasted in duckfat with minimal sauce on the pizza) and a white pizza with preserved lemon and kale. Just three beers on tap, but they paired extremely well with the pizza, and the overall dinner was very affordable. Just a great experience.

We were traveling to Paris via NYC and had heard about Emily on the Eater website and made reservations for the Chef's Table. Emily greeted us at the door with the most welcoming greeting we've had in years! Then, over the next couple of hours, we feasted on what seemed unending small dishes. Each one a really unique creation by Emily's secret weapon, her husband Matt. Here is a chef who loves what he does, understands the beauty of simplicity and has the skills to join that into an artful playground for the palate. The Chefs Table is off menu and was the "best foot forward" I have seen from a chef in a long, long time! And he makes a mean pizza! Deanna and Alyssa watched over us well! Wonderful and interesting wine recommendations. We will be back
