“Burgers and beer in Brooklyn”
Reviewed December 24, 2012

This is a casual spot that serves a surprisingly excellent burger. The other food is good, including the pulled pork, but the burger really stands out. The fries were fresh, hot and crisp, skin on potatoes. The tasted like the were made the best way - twice fried.Great beer selection, and the service wereceived was excellent. Prices were very reasonable as well.

“Great Burgers and Beer”
Reviewed October 24, 2012

Their burgers are great and their beer selection is amazing. You have to go back more than several times in order to try all the beers. And then still not be done. The menu changes every so often but the staples are still there - burgers, fries, shepherd's pie. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The patrons are locals and hipsters.

“Great Beer Bar!”
Reviewed July 10, 2012

Food? I didn't even ask if they had it. Mugs is a beer bar. Scott, the bartender handles the room like a maestro. Will sample you on drafts before committing to a pint. And this is a 16oz pint of beer - not a short pour 12 oz. Guys, don't go there to find girls, it's packed mostly with guys drinking draft beer. Good happy hour specials and the place fills up. People watching in the hipster neighborhood of Williamsburg in Brooklyn is a side benefit if sitting near a window. Locals hang out there and I went with my husband and a friend we were visiting. Everyone seems welcome.

“A Local Bar and Dining Area with a well kept old time charm”
Reviewed January 4, 2012

Very old popular local Williamsburg Ba right on Bedford Ave on the way to the park. When you walk in this place you feel the TV noise of sports, and the smell of a recently cleaned bar. What is inviting is the crusty old locals mixed in with the younger wave of Williamsburgers sitting or standing a few people deep at busy times up to the bar drinking a very wide selection of Imported and local beers. To me the gem of this place is the dining area in the back. All the old heavy wood and painted tin ceiling and walls are preserved. The menu is basic with excellent burgers including ostrich and buffalo. Specials are a good quality plate of food. Sometimes you have the place to yourself and others it is crowded but a good place to try when there are lines everywhere else. I like the Williamsburg Burger for $8.50. A large burger on a big classic solid bun and a plate of fries. A good value. Off course a pint of local or rare beer to happily wash it down. The dining room is a good place to share with friends and you will often see a table of 10 friends getting together. I like the big overscale, raised up wooden booths. Kids are nicely tolerated in the back. Little outdoor area used during nice weather.
