Crabs! Noisy that night because of a high school reunion. But they still served us up nicely. Small but tasty clams oreganata. Got to back for lobster. Clearly all the packed tables were having a good time. Big deck right on the marina. Am definitely going back in warmer weather.

On a Friday night, Sheepshead bay is the place to hang out, boatrides and seafood galore. I heard about the crab cakes at Clememtes and decided to find out what the hoopla was about..The crab cakes WERE fantastic. Most times there are flour or other fillers that make the crab cakes rubbery but the crab cakes at Clementes were all crab and seasoned perfectly. the meal itself was simple: rice, vegetables and crab cakes.Real down home taste. On the outside deck that friday night was a DJ and dancing..and the crab legs just kept coming..Seafood at its best, Simple, delicious, and totally enjoyable....AND INEXPENSIVE

Based on previous reviews, we celebrated our anniversary at Clemente's. During low tide, the odor of the canal is overpowering. We dined outside and were disappointed with the lack of cleanliness of the floor and the 'view from the table.' I sat looking out at the houseboats, jet skis, and boats while my husband had a view of a rickety wooden wall, fresh with a rusty can of insect repellent.
The food was fair - I had crab chowder, Ceasar salad and shrimp FraDiavlo. The chowder could have been good had the chef added some salt and seasoning. The salad consisted of a plate of chopped Romaine lettuce, a few croutons and what seemed to be bottled dressing - no cheese nor pepper. The shrimp was fresh but lacked the depth of flavor of Fra Diavlo sauce. I did find several pepper flakes among the poorly cooked linguini. The bill came out to over $100. For fresh, delicious seafood at decent prices, travel a little further east and dine at Artie's in Long Beach. Fra Diavlo, at Umberto's of New Hyde Park.
My husband had crab cakes which could have been great if the chef added some seasoning. The cakes were packed with crabmeat; the vegetables tasted like hospital fare.

Prices are a little high, but the seafood is really fresh, and the food's good-we tried the lobster tacos, shrimp & lobster ravioli, shrimp oregonata w/pasta, & the all you can eat crabs-1 dozen crabs is 3 bucks cheaper, and I hear the crabs are bigger-most folks can't eat more than 12 anyway. Service is good, and it's fun looking right out at the boats & the water.

This place has great food... It was fresh, they provided large portions, with prices equivalent to what you would pay at a good seafood restaurant. The atmosphere is diner-like inside with no fancy sea themes, netting from the ceilings, or sailing ship murals. Outside is right on a small inlet (couldn't describe it better that that due to darkness...) Sitting under the outside tent was the place to be with a hopping bar scene and many waiting for their seats. We we very happy with our meals but the wait was a killer...

We planned a day at Coney Island to visit the Aquarium and bring the kids someplace they heard about many times but had never been. We planned on dinner at Clemente's and ended up getting there around 8:30 after a GPS nightmare. Google Navigator saved me from throwing the Garmin out the window... It is a difficult place to get to and seems easier when traveling east on the Belt.

The place looks like nothing special and you enter directly into the main dining room. No host stand or anything that remotely looks like a place to give your name. But the ATM you greet reminds you that this is a cash only place! A waitress brought us to the outside patio and we finally found our man who scribbled our name in a pad and ran off clearing tables, sitting people, answering phones and hearing it from other soon to be diners who also frustrated waiting for tables.

Long story short, the wait was ridiculous. An hour for a family of 5. The problem was that it was told to us that indoor seating would be 15 minutes. Just be warned that you'll need to factor in your wait for this place. But maybe it's worth the wait if their seafood is always as good as what we had!
