Years ago we had a good polish restaurant nearby that we'd go to regularly. Then they closed and we couldn't find a replacement. When visiting in brooklyn we came across karczma's and decided to give it a try. The decor is supposed to be a rustic polish style, seemed a little strained and i cant really tell what kind of weird music was playing, but the waitress in her cute little polish outfit made me forget the decor. The food came quickly and was great. I tried the polish specialty plate....3 pierogis, 2 potato pancakes, kielbasa, hunters stew and stuffed cabbage. Waaay to much for me! took half home. Price 11 bucks!! We had the white borscht soup served in a bread bowl, an order of pierogis with cheese and potato, sauerkraut-mushroom and meat. I'm dont know much about euro beers but the friends with me said the selection is pretty good. The wait staff were all bilingual, polish/ english which added to the overall experience All in all a very tasty, filling meal at a very cheap price!
