“Can't beat River Cafe for Manhatten dinner views”
Reviewed March 4, 2014

We wanted somewhere special whilst in NYC to celebrate my birthday and had spotted some really good reviews for The River Cafe so decided to book this and used Open Table to do so.

The restaurant is on the Brooklyn side so you get an amazing view of the Manhatten skyline whilst enjoying some delicious food.

The menu is a fixed price at $115 per person for 3 courses. There was a very good selection of starters, mains and deserts to choose from. The quality of the food was excellent, service was very attentive without being rushed and the atmosphere of the restaurant was welcoming.

If you're a chocolate fan, I would recommend the Brooklyn Bridge desert. Truly a chocoholic delight.

If you're looking for somewhere special then I wouldn't hesitate to recommend The River Cafe and would certainly return for the good food and excellent views.

“Glad the River Cafe is back!”
Reviewed March 4, 2014

We have gone there for years for our anniversary. After Superstorm Sandy, the Cafe was down for over a year. It's not just a good meal, which you can get in many NY restaurants. It's also a special evening with great service and the view of Manhattan. Even native New Yorkers like us still get a thrill seeing where we live!

“Great for the visiting in-laws”

It sort of feels like you're in the dining room of a cruise ship, but with better food. A great "destination" for visiting families.

“An Experience”
Reviewed March 4, 2014

As an old-school Brooklynite, the River Cafe has always held a romantic place in my heart. I recently dined there for the first time, after it reopened from Sandy damage. It was almost precisely as I expected. All of the table were oriented towards the views, the food was high-end, although not very daring, and it was a great location and setting for a romantic evening. The price is not as good a value as other high-end restaurants I have been to, but they also do not have this location.

The service was second-to-none. The food was excellent. The view of the New York City skyline was to die for.
