“Highlight of my trip to New York”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 27, 2012

I was visiting New York City and took my daughter to The River Cafe to celebrate her 25th birthday. We were seated right by the window, and it offered a wonderful view of the Manhattan skyline and the Brooklyn Bridge. Right across the river was the World Trade Center memorial. We could also see the Empire State Building on the other side. The decor was beautiful and the centerpieces were large bouquets of fresh roses. The food was superb and the service was excellent. We both had the lobster and lobster, which was a cold lobster tail in a kind of salad, paired with a grilled cheese and lobster sandwich. I recommend the Brooklyn Bridge dessert. The restaurant is pricey, but for a special occasion, we felt it was a unique and memorable experience.

“Always wonderful”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 26, 2012

Location, view, wonderful service, delicious food, perfectly cooked and elegantly presented, always beautiful flowers; the River Cafe is my all time favorite NYC dining experience. Or lunch. If they served breakfast I would go for that too.

“A great venue in a great city for a great occasion.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 26, 2012

For celebrating a special occasion as we did, I cannot see beyond the River Cafe as being the place to go for an evening meal. The service was exceptional, from the moment we arrived to the time we left. The staff throughout were geniune in their approach. The food lived up to its price and the views were clearly breathtaking.
If you approach this venue with the same high regard shown by the staff, then you will not be disappointed. Gents, please wear a jacket and embrace the evening with the respect that such a venue deserves.

“Impromptu Lunch!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 25, 2012

We called in at The River Cafe today to confirm a booking made online from England for Sunday brunch. We were on hired bicycles and dressed accordingly casually. We decided it would be nice to stay for lunch and were immediately shown to a very nice table overlooking Manhattan and the Statue of Liberty. My wife and I both had the 14 ounce sirloin steak with chips which was excellent both in taste and presentation. Our two children shared a steak which was equally beautiful. The unplanned meal was excellent in every respect with attentive but not intrusive service, possibly the best view in New York and all at a reasonable cost . I look forward to Sunday!

Fabulous food, service & decor. The views of the Manhattan skyline are breathtaking; you won't want to leave! Arrive early to stroll through the tiny garden in front - gorgeous!
