“Enter and indulge!”
Reviewed April 6, 2013

Stopped by Saturday around 10:30 for a birthday breakfast celebration for my friend and the selections chosen were tasty and well presented. Our waitress was friendly and attentive and right on time with the coffee refill. A steady stream of customers entered the shop to purchase bakery items while the breakfast crowd enjoyed their croissants, eggs or waffles. The action didn't distract us from our conversation...it added to the ambiance.

I was good and didn't walk out with dessert, but my friends had a field day choosing things for a late afternoon snack. The cakes look beautiful and I'm sure taste scrumptious. Start your day at Cousin John's when you're visiting Park Slope (as we were) or treat yourself to breakfast out if you live in the area.

“Lovely Intimate Brunch Spot”
Reviewed March 13, 2013

It's very small. The baked goods are absolutely wonderful. I love the brioche there but the muffins, croissants and danish are exceptional. The menu is limited but it is good- pancakes, open-faced omelets and eggs with baked goods satisfy. Go and ask to sit upstairs where you can watch the pastry chef decorating cakes or the crew prepping the baked goods.

“Love this place for so many delicious reasons!”
Reviewed December 5, 2012

We started going to Cousin John's for the cakes and pastries which are out of this world. Everything is made on premises and if you want to you can watch them bake upstairs in the back. Then we decided to give a try to the brunch they serve on saturdays and sundays and that did it. Wow! They make a great brunch too! Belgian Waffles with fresh fruit, Omelettes that are light and fluffy and can be filled with a variety of items like bacon, cheese etc. Eggs Benedict cooked just right. All breakfasts come with a home made crossaint that just melts in your mouth. And finally the prices are way below what you would ever expect to pay for food this good. We love this place.

“GO HERE!”
Reviewed October 29, 2012

After arriving wayyyyyy ahead of schedule (6am) we really had limited options for breakfast. I read the reviews on this place and decided to give it a try since they open at 7am. From Penn station to BK it took about 40 minutes. the cafe is easy to find and well worth the trip. It is small, like most spots in NYC and the food is great! We had three plates piled high with deliciousness for about $6 each. One friend i was with had a capuccino which she believes to be the best shes ever had. I recommend the open face omelette. wow!

The best cake icing and chocolate I ever found in NYC.

They will also decorate a cake with a message of your choice with no extra charge.

Love the chocolate strawberry mouse cake!

By all means try Cousin John's! (it's an easy 5 min. walk from 7th ave. Q and B trains subway station.
