Description: A Park Slope institution since 2001, Blue Ribbon Brooklyn is a lively night spot and family-friendly version of the SoHo original Blue Ribbon. Our menu is much the same as at our SoHo flagship, including fresh seafood shucked and shelled to order from a long oyster bar, as well as our special Brooklyn take on many Blue Ribbon classics such as matzo ball soup, hummus, fried chicken and paella. Our atmosphere is casual, comfortable and relaxed. We feature a full bar with select draft and bottle beers, creative cocktails and an extensive wine list.

Enjoyed Blue Ribbon Brasserie with friends and family one recent evening when we needed a spot for a late dinner (10 pm). The wine list is small but we found a delicious Malbec for $30 - can't beat that for a restaurant price. Everyone had sushi and really enjoyed their choices. The wait staff was quite friendly and helpful - interesting that the waiter couldn't tell us about the wine list and had to send the manager over, but no matter, we found something we enjoyed.

I used to love Blue Ribbon, but they're sliding down hill lately, makes me sad.

The food's still good, but not good enough for the price increases. Since they closed Blue Ribbon Sushi next door & merged the sushi into the main restaurant the place has been funky, literally. It smells like stinky fish & cat urine combined.

The service is abysmal. We counted the servers who worked our table (only 2 of us) - six total. One didn't know what the other had done & there was perpetual confusion. We had no idea how or who to tip. They forgot our take-away leftovers and had to RUN to the kitchen to save them, scary.

I have enjoyed BR for many years, but with so many new restaurants opening in the 'hood, I may go elsewhere from now on.

A few friends of mine and I had a late-night dinner at Blue Ribbon during the tail end of our stay in Brooklyn. The food is definitely on the pricey side, even for Brooklyn, but that you get what you pay for is especially true here.

One specific recommendation: get the Ox Tail Fried Rice. You won't be sorry.
