We enjoyed this eatery very much-it was a pleasant evening and the front doors were open-a couple tables were outside-many locals were there with their 4 legged friends! A very friendly staff and accommodating. There was the wood burning stove in the middle of the restaurant so it got a little warm for us. They presented us with a basket of bread which was really pizza crust from the oven with some olive oil and herbs-crunchy and flavorable! The menu options were simple but excellent. They were out of the salmon but our host explained how difficult it was to secure now and that was understandable. No specials were offered for the day;
We both had pasta-black ink fettuccine/linguine with shrimp and fresh avocado and an angel hair pasta with cream sauce, fresh tomato, basil and shrimp.
Both dishes were well prepared-fresh pasta, cooked perfectly and sauces light and fresh, too-wonderful meal.
We did not opt for the pizza but it looked amazing (many interesting toppings were offered) as did some lovely fresh salads we saw come out. The bar is ample and local beers are the highlight as well as a decent wine list. The prices were excellent for a NYC restaurant of this caliber. Our bill for 2 with 4 drinks came to about 60.00
The staff here is really nice and friendly and helpful and we enjoyed talking with them. The decor was simple with a nice atmosphere. We would recommend and come again!
