Owner description: We believe the best way to experience a city is on a lightweight and comfortable city bike. We believe riding in smaller groups and at a slower pace creates a more intimate and memorable experience. We believe a friendly local guide will give you the best insider tips and recommendations for authentic, off the beaten path sites AND ... we believe wearing a walkie-talkie and headset keeps you safe and informed during the ride. Well organized, great equipment, and commentary and anecdotes from Felipe via radio/headphones as you cycle all make for a great experience. Fascinating to hear about and see the different cultural and ethnic influences in different parts of Brooklyn, and the kinds of redevelopment and creativity transforming the waterfront. A highpoint was the visit to New York's largest rooftop farm (or was it the largest in the USA - or the largest in the world?) in the former docklands area. And in a hectic ten days of sight-seeing in New York, what a pleasure to cycle instead of walk! Your feet will thank you! It's a change of pace, a change of perspective that's energizing rather than exhausting. The four hours fly by - it doesn't feel long at all and you don't want it to end when it's over! Everyone in our family - two teenagers included - rated it their best experience of the trip. And we did plenty of cool stuff, so the bar was set pretty high! Thanks Felipe and good luck.

One of the best activities that we did while in Brooklyn. Highly recommend. The explanation of the historical buildings and places was interesting - the tour guide was more apt to give these at the beginning of the ride as opposed to the end of ride. Also, have to carry bike up a small flight of stairs (bike was not heavy, but just having had recent surgery, I would like to have been informed of this prior to doing the tour). Otherwise, great!

Thumbs up to Get up and Ride for a brilliant tour of Brooklyn.

Excited about both cycling and Brooklyn we had to try this guided bike ride. Staying in Brooklyn for a week we decided to do the tour on our first day and it really made our stay so much better.

The bikes provided were decent and comfortable (seven speed city bikes).

In terms of fitness level I think most people should manage - Brooklyn is pretty much flat anyway and this is a tour not a race :) There is a bit of cycling on roads with some traffic, but for NYC very limited. Most of the tour takes you through dedicated cycle lanes or really quiet roads.

With a couple of stops (lunch, coffee and photo stops) the tour lasted about four hours - just about right.

Check out their instagram account for updated snaps.

Would I recommend the tour? Most definately!

Is it cheap? Probably not, but the groups are small (max eight I think) and the guides are great fun, knowledgable and friendly so worth every cent!

My wife and I had an absolute blast. Our guide James was very cool, knowledgeable and we had a great time! All I can say to everyone who's looking to have a great fun day biking around one of the most interesting boroughs of NYC is taking this tour either with family, friends, even by yourself. Highly recommend!

This being our second trip to NYC ,we were looking for different things to do.So many people said to see Brooklyn, but Brookyln is BIG and how to see as much as possible. On a BIKE. What a fantastic tour,so much we covered, especially along the waterline with fantastic views of the Manhattan skyline. The bikes were new, comfortable and easy to ride. Bike helmets were provided, route was mostly flat and mostly along bike lanes. The few times we were on roads without bike lanes, the traffic was minimal and Felipe was always careful of our safety. Rests were often, at points of interest, including two half hours stops for lunch(great pizza) and a visit to an amazing huge rooftop garden with chickens and beehives. We even got a coffee stop. The trip back on the ferry gazing at Manhattan was a perfect ending.Felipe was full of information and anecdotes but especially he was so much fun. A really great day! Thanks Felipe
