“Hidden Gem....”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 14, 2013

I absolutely love this place. Having traveled to several caribbean islands, I definitely felt like I was on one while here. The food is absolutely divine. I love the BYOB feature. What makes this place so cool is that it is so inexpensive. Definitely a great look for Brooklyn and not to far from the Barclay Center. Please check it out, you won't regret it!

“Fantastic - Keep Coming Back”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 25, 2013

The caribbean/french cuisine is amazing and prepared with meticulous care. The service is very personable - Sebastien and Michelle are wonderful hosts/proprietors. Cash only and you can bring your own wine/beer/etc...

This is a must!

“Shhhh...”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 30, 2012

I love this place.

They don't take reservations so it can get difficult to get in, but if you go early you probably won't have a problem. Kaz an Nou is one of those real family restaurants that are way too hard to find these days. Mom and Dad are in the kitchen and Son and Daughter are working the floor. And the food? Tastes just like it's coming out of your French Carribean mother's kitchen. Its awesome.

Always great ingredients seasonal and locally sourced. Love everything on the menu. BYOB is also a great plus.

“perfect”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 21, 2012

If you are visiting New York, spend your first day around Central Park, check out 5th Avenue and stop by Times Square at night. then forget all of that and spend the rest of your trip where New Yorkers spend their time: Downtown Manhattan, Long Island City, and of course, Brooklyn. Kaz An Nou is Brooklyn at its best. You enter and its like a scene from Angel Heart, but without the blood. Its small, dark, there are ceiling fans, weird lamps and pots, and there is jazz. I'm no expert in food, but the ambiance is second to none. Very friendly service as well: they were closing down, but still offered to serve us dessert. And there is a deli around the corner which carries some very interesting beers, such as Three Philosophers, also highly recommended. Overall, a hidden gem, and my new favorite spot.

“Very good french caribbean food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 22, 2012

This small place located at Brooklin will surprise with their flavours. A small BYOB that seems to be always full serves this french caribbean food, that brings the spicy to the french food. Duck was melting, spicy chocolate delicious, and the service very friendly. The price at the end is also affordable, what is very good considering you must pay cash. Very recommended place for those who want to leave manhattan.
