When in Brooklyn, eat like the locals do. And that means pizza. Good, quality, oven fired pizza. And Barboncino did not disappoint. We had spent most of the day strolling through Prospect Park, so we were exhausted and hungry, but we thought too much food might make us sick. So we ordered the Neapolitan meatballs to share amongst 3 people and the margherita pizza. The meatballs were great and came 4 to an order. They were polished off in 2 minutes.
I was stunned to see a family of four each order a pizza per person. Who could eat all that? Well, when the pizza came, it was a personal size pizza, about the size of a dinner plate, sliced into 4. I'm not complaining - it was delicious! But we could have easily ordered two and split them. $11 per pizza is still a dirt cheap price for an entree. Super think crust. Tangy sweet marinara sauce. Gooey melty mozz. And just enough basil to give it that herby kick. And of course plenty of burnt crusty bits to crunch on. Yum!
We chose to sit outside on the patio. So intimate, maybe 5 or 6 tables. Some for parties of 2 or 4, others could seat about 6. It was like being in someone's backyard. Perfect for a summer afternoon get together with friends.
