We had a lovely stay at Dekoven Suites. We felt we were in a home away from home. The room was filled with antiques with a very comfortable bed. We had a small refrigerator , coffee maker, and hot pot to make our stay more pleasant. The house is located in a historic area in Brooklyn with beautiful trees and flowers all around. The smell of lilacs wafted in our window. The family was very inviting and friendly. Our breakfast included a homemade cornbread with berries. I would definitely recommend Dekoven Suites to all.

Room Tip: We only saw one room, but my guess is that they're all good.

The DeKoven Suites are located on a quiet, tree-lined street in a residential neighborhood of Brooklyn close to local shopping and public transportation. The innkeepers are welcoming hosts who made us feel comfortable from the time of our arrival in New York until our departure about a week later. This was done within the limitations of their property and prior booking commitments.

The breakfast schedule accommodates guests on vacation, with food and drink available buffet style.

There was plenty of drawer space in our room with a private three-quarter-bathroom, but closet space was wanting. There were many power outlets, and complimentary wi-fi service. In keeping with modern times, there was no telephone jack in the room.

The house is an older 3-story Victorian home. We were able to hear others moving around the house and a subway train passing nearby. The noises were muted. They were not distracting as we became more used to them with time.

We did experience minor annoyances with some of the furnishings and appliances. Those were distracting. It is important to pay attention to all the notices posted on the premises to make sure that everything functions properly.

We stayed in the one bedroom unit in the lower level with our toddler son. The space was perfect! The bedroom was large, and the walk in closet provided a great place for us to put the portable crib. The living area was spacious, and we brought some DVDs to watch while our son slept. The location had its positives: beautiful neighborhood, close to the subway, easy street parking on weekends (although the host told us that parking is harder during the week). The downside: there weren't a whole lot of places nearby to eat, the subway is so close that you can hear it rumble by occassionally (didn't bother us, though). The continental breakfast was relatively light, which worked for us: cold cereals, toast, juice, coffee. We will recommend this place to our friends, and will stay there again.

Room Tip: The downstairs suite is great for families, and can probably accomodate 5-6 people comfortably, but...

Very cozy and intimate property in a wonderful, historic block of Brooklyn. Conveniently located very close to the metro in a safe neighborhood. Very warm and friendly hosts plus the wonderful experience of sharing stories with fellow guests over a sumptuous continental breakfast (this was one of the best parts of our stay). Close proximity to the metro does mean a faint rumbling of trains as they pass by - should not be a problem unless very sensitive to noise. We stayed in the master bedroom with bathroom located just outside, and were quite happy...Thanks!

My Fiance and I had a wonderful stay at Dekoven Suites this winter. The house was large and spacious and had all the amenities we needed for a comfortable stay. The hosts were flexible and warm and definitely added to the overall experience. It was located in a beautiful neighborhood in Brooklyn which felt safe and quite while providing easy access to the train system into Manhattan. We'd definitely stay again!

Our stay at DeKoven Suites was amazing. It was so nice to find a bed and breakfast that was in a great location and perfectly suitable for my husband and I, and our three children. Our suite, with private entrance, had a children's room which was very large, yet cozy and amply appointed with games, stuffed animals, a large TV, a queen size bed and a single bed . Our separate bedroom room with a queen size bed was very lovely and quiet. Our hosts Susan and Chalo could not have been more helpful. Their restaurant recommendations were right on target and they gave us outstanding directions to anywhere in NYC. We have been telling all our friends and family about this amazing find and we can not wait to back ourselves!

Room Tip: Make sure to tap the owners for their tips on traveling in NYC and their huge knowledge base of thin...

One would never expect to find a place like this in the New York City area. It is so close to the city allowing one to experience everything NY has to offer but then you can truly go home! What a treat this beautiful, victorian experience gives you. The owners are amazing people and make you feel so welcome at any time. Breakfast is yummy, the rooms are appointed with so much personality and warmth, clean and cozy and if you need laundry done it is accessible. The other great thing is that you get a taste of Brooklyn which has its own charm if you don't want to only see the city. Susan and Chalo will give you great tips on where to eat, what to see and make sure your stay with them is the best you could have. I would recommend it to everyone, not only is the price fair but the total package is AWESOME....

Room Tip: If you have kids definitely the basement, laundry there. The upper rooms are all beautiful, you won...
