Yeah, well, it's a bridge, it's long, the toll is expensive, and I guess it looks nice. I give it an excellent rating because it gets you there as it's supposed to.

Entrances and exits to the Belt Parkway are tight and not well designed, the cars move at a crawl and we have taken the bridge many many times. From a distance the bridge looks beautiful with sleek lines but getting on and off it is to be avoided. Also, the cost of crossing is remarkably high.

Whenever travelling to Brookyn and going either to Staten Island or continuing to New Jersey via the bridge we cannot help but be impressed by its grandeur. It is worthwhile to ride on the top level and view Manhattan on the route from Brooklyn to Staten Island. You can also glimpse the Statue of Liberty from the bridge. Although the view of the bridge before enering it and the views from it are great during the day, the view at night is so impressive with all the light lighting up its structure and size. Its worth a trip from Manhattan to experience crossing the bridge. Be prepared thought for the toll necessay paying one way only towards Staten Island. Have your camera ready to click the bridge itself and the views available. You can also park off of the
belt Parkway and view the bridge and take some time out to relax from busy touring. You can easily combine it with a trip to Coney Island, which also can be viewed from the walking trail that goes under the bridfe off of the parking lot off of the Belt Parkway.

The Verrazano is a highlight of my daily bike route. As well as being a great NY landmark, it offers nice shade and variation of landscape along the south Brooklyn bike path. Not to be missed and it's super tall!

Verrazano_Narrows Bridge - which connects Brooklyn and Staten Island - in Greater NY area. Some interesting pics taken from my smartphone crossing the Verrazano BELOW it - in a friend's sail boat - in Aug 2013. We crossed it along side a large Car Carrier Ship which was only a few feet from scraping the Bridge's Bottom. We also passed the Queen Mary 2 setting sail out of NY on the same evening
