As a long time fan of their beers it was an obvious place to visit. Easy to find from the subway just a short 10 minute walk. On the day of my visit the part of the brewery was closed due to a refurb but areas visited were well worth it. Hit the bar after the tour to sample the selection on offer.

Alot of fun and a good Weekend spot to try some beers and take the "tour". The tour is more a history of the brewery than a tour but still interesting and worth seeing. Be prepared to line up on the weekends. Can be a bit or line for beer and entry so take plenty of cash and load up.

This brewery is a very busy place. Although the tour is not really a tour but more of a talk on how beer is made and how the company came about, it is still worth listening to. Beer tokens are purchased for $5 each or 5 for $20 then you line up for your beer. The high content beer did cost 2 tokens. Judging by the crowds here this is a popular thing to do.

Beer in NYC is pricing so getting quality beer for $4 each which you purchase 5 tokens is great! The brewery is a loud place with big tables set up between the bar and small shop. The tour isn't really a tour but a talk by a member of staff about the history but still worth listening to. Outside food can be taken in and the shop sells tshirts etc

This is not a pretentious brewery at all. It is a renovated warehouse with a real working brewery, 4-5 bartenders filling cups with great brew, and a bunch of large tables in a big, open, very loud room. We loved it.

First of all understand that in general, buying alcohol in New York City is torture if you're not from there. I say this mainly because of the prices! I don't know if its NYC taxes or what, but the prices are ridiculous. It is a sad but true fact that I can buy a 6 pack of Brooklyn Lager for cheaper in Tucson than in Brooklyn. Booze is expensive in restaurants too.

That being said, the biggest surprise of this visit was getting high quality beer for $4 each which you purchase 5 tokens! The brewery is a loud place with big tables setup. Take a few friends, but I wouldn't advise for a large group unless you get there very early.

Bartenders are very busy but will spend time telling you about what is on tap during your visit. $2-4 snacks are available, but understand this is a BREWERY not a restaurant attached to a brewerly like so many. They encourage you to bring outside food. The Saturday we visited, there was a pizza truck parked right outside the front door.
