Nice place. Good beer at a good price. They don't serve food, but there is a pizza truck out front. It's an fun place to gather with friends!

Went here on a Sunday. Place was packed with people. When the line is at its longest it takes 15 minutes to get a beer. Either $5 for one or $20 for 5 is a pretty good deal for beer fresh from the brewery.
Great meeting place/destination for friends and all craft beer lovers. The brewery does get busy very quickly so plan ahead and get there early! Do not give up your seats if you are lucky enough to get them! There is always a balanced variety of beer from core, Brewmaster Reserves, & Limited release products all reasonably priced and so fresh. The utilization of tokens just makes life easier for the operation to run smoothly & quickly get your draught selection. The tokens never expire so you can pass it on to a friend if you can't use them all that day or save them for a return trip. They do have packaged snacks from local business & have a souvenir shop with some really cool stuff. The tour is cool & nice for a first brewery experience for most people. They try to be informative & educational on the history of the facility and the process of making beer.Saturday tours are free but M-T are $8 & require reservations. FYI- for you beer Gods that are overeducated on the whole craft beer scene either think about your questions carefully and not try to show off, also try not to make the tour guide & group feel inadequate or uncomfortable because of your knowledge. My advise to those of you that are like this please skip the tour and stay inside the hall drinking beer to avoid any conflicts. You may work a persons' last good nerve and remember there are all walks of life visiting the Brooklyn Brewery! Aside for the aformentioned FYI, this place was a lot of fun so make plans to visit soon. Thanks Brooklyn Brewery!
Being from the Pacific Northwest, I am familiar with the micro-brewery / brew pub concept. I came here on a Sunday afternoon in August. Went on the tour (which was short, but nice and informative) and tried a bunch of beers. They have so many great beers on tap and some specialty brews by the bottle. It's basically a beer garden set-up, with some food vendors selling snacks on the day I was there. I'd recommend grabbing a bite to eat before you arrive or plan on eating afterwards. I met a ton of great people while I was there, just sit at a table and start chatting. Brooklyn Brewery is really popular in Sweden, so apparently it's a must-see for Swedish tourists in NYC. I had a great time here and would go back! If you like beer, you need to make time to visit. I took the subway and it's a short walk from one of the subway stops.
Went hear on a Saturday afternoon to take the guided tour in the brewery and to try some of the more exclusive sorts that are hard to find. The tour was great, lots of people there so we had to stand in line for a while. Since it was Saturday afternoon the bar area was packed with people, many of them in big companies, so it was a bit of a challenge to find a place to sit down but not impossible. You buy beer tokens in the entrance and if you get hungry there's a mobile pizza van outside and you can bring in the pizza. Very nice atmosphere, friendly staff and a curious cat! Walking from the subway gives you a nice feeling of Brooklyn life too.
