On my Birthday in 2012, my husband and I decided to have an all vegan (we are not vegan) day in NYC. This day was planned around a very specific purchase I had to make at a boutique store that requires a fitting and alterations.
Our first stop was breakfast at Sun in Bloom. Here is a copy/paste from my blog about our experience...
First of all, we were seated so close to Usher (Yes, Usher Raymond) that we could hear his conversation with his crew - not that we were paying attention. Moods and I had our own topics to address. I must say, we like everything that touched our lips and it was great to know that we were engaging in guilt-free eating. We were ingesting organic, vegan, gluten free, locally grown food and it was fantastic.
Moods had the watermelon gazpacho and the strawberry and banana pancakes. I had the sweet n' spicy spring roll, gingerade (made with lime, lemon, and ginger) and the butternut squash tart. The tart was like a quiche, but way better. I was loving the crust. The staff gave us a cheesecake sample which we happily consumed. You know that you had a very healthy and properly proportioned meal when you are energized after eating. After this delicious meal, we drove to the Metropolitan Museum of Art and we spent about 3 hours exploring the section on Egypt.
