Owner description: Dumbo, an acronym for Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass, is a neighborhood in the New York City borough of Brooklyn. It encompasses two sections: one located between the Manhattan and Brooklyn Bridges, which connect Brooklyn to Manhattan across the East River, and another that continues east from the Manhattan Bridge to the Vinegar Hill area.

More shops and businesses continue to fill in the Mosaic of Dumbo, making it truly liveable. New apartment buildings are being slipped in here and there.
Tips: While you are here definitely stop by the wonderful, new, Brooklyn Bridge Park. As you drive around watch for the ubiquitous pedestrians crossing the street in front of you, with their heads down examining their mobile devices.

While you are here you may wish to check out the famous pizzeria Grimaldi's, as well as Jacques Torres chocolate .
They need a true sports bar in DUMBO,. I tried to watch "March Madness" here this year, and after stopping at three place- I had to escape to Brooklyn Heights and the Montague Street area to watch the games.

Lovely area to walk around with great views of the Manhattan skyline. Nice neighbourhood, safe and has loads of nice little places to eat or get a snack.

If you knew Manhattan's SoHo of the early 70's you will recognize Dumbo. Except there is much more affluence, refined restaurants and bars, and a set of parks that is a "green park way" from just under the Manhattan Bridge to the end of Atlantic Avenue in Brooklyn Heights.

Great area to visit with some wonderful bars and a fantastic outdoor vibe, it's a bit of a journey for a night out if staying in New York but well worth it.

Great place for a stroll, a bite to eat a walk in the park or a place to live. Parking is a rough one though. taking the subway is the best way to go or if you have a few bucks, take a cab. I prefer to walk over the bridge once in a while.
