Owner description: Dumbo, an acronym for Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass, is a neighborhood in the New York City borough of Brooklyn. It encompasses two sections: one located between the Manhattan and Brooklyn Bridges, which connect Brooklyn to Manhattan across the East River, and another that continues east from the Manhattan Bridge to the Vinegar Hill area.

Great building artistic neighborhood and many happenings. One of the best restaurants we've tried is there "Governor" and also one of the cutest all day cafe-bars "One Girl Cookies"

We walked across the Brooklyn Bridge and then to Dumbo for a view of the Manhattan Skyline at night which was fantastic, we stopped for a coffee in a local shop and were warmly greeted even though this was xmas eve, so we would love to go back and explore more as the locals are lovely people.

Great place to for a stroll in the early evening. Beautiful cobblestone streets and great architecture all around. View of mid and lower Manhattan is the best from this area.

Not me , but the wife as she had been told by friends and read the travel books and expected a lot more. Maybe it's only a Summer or Weekend thing but we walked around for nearly an Hour and didn't really get it as there was next to nothing to get ??

Generally love this area, has gotten better and better in the recent years. Depending how how you get there (which train/bus) it can be a bit of a hike, but well worth a visit to the water side. Jane's Carousel is adorable, esp. if you have little ones. I also really enjoy special events in that area like "Smorgasburg" Brooklyn.
