Owner description: Dumbo, an acronym for Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass, is a neighborhood in the New York City borough of Brooklyn. It encompasses two sections: one located between the Manhattan and Brooklyn Bridges, which connect Brooklyn to Manhattan across the East River, and another that continues east from the Manhattan Bridge to the Vinegar Hill area.

This is a nice area for a stroll on a clear day. The bridge was under repair, so nothing exciting from underneath. The markets (Smorgasbord) were closed for winter, so very quiet...other than the racket from the Williamsburg Bridge. We continued on to the village area, and had a walk through interesting shops.

This is Brooklyn and its finest. Once worn, old, and dillapidated, DUMBO has been gentrified with outdoor cages, restaurants, and galleries. It's easy to get to by walking, bus, subway, or by my favorite way, the New York Water Taxi. You can board the taxi at several locations in Manhattan, Long Island City, and Brooklyn.

Dumbo is a great place to visit and sets your senses going, the art, the vibrantcy, the amazing weddings that seem to happen around here, photographers abound. Art places hidden away. Awesome

A cute little area with art and the bridge nearby to watch the water and people. Restaurants are good.

Come for the shops, among the most outstanding of course is Jacques Torres' chocolate heaven. Avoid the overrated and touristy Grimaldi's Pizza.
