Since the 1980s, Brooklyn's Chinatown, located along 8th Avenue from 42nd to 68th Street, has grown steadily and is now the largest Chinese enclave in NYC. Convenient by subway - BMT N train at 62nd St & 8th Ave - a stroll up and down 8th Ave (lucky 8) is an awesome experience. Their are countless restaurants serving a host of Chinese cuisines, including some of the best dim sum in the northeast, Vietnamese, Malaysian - to name a few. There are great Chinese bakeries, tea shops, etc. A wide array of produce, goods from China. Street repairmen who will fix your shoes or watch on the spot. On the avenues to the west of 8th one can find incredible South & Central American cuisine.
A visit to Sunset Park is a unique and culturally rich experience.
