We caught the subway to Brooklyn to see the beautiful brownstone buildings, not to mention the views of Manhattan. It was the weekend and we loved seeing the local children in the parks, people walking the dog etc in this beautiful neighborhood.

The area most memorable lies between the East River (the promenade) to the west and Cadman Plaza to the east and Montague St to the south and Poplar St to the north. Each heavily tree lined street is filled with rows of brownstones and their varieties of iron railings, window detail and doors. Do some online research to learn of famous writers and actors/resses who lived here.Take some time to walk along Montague St for a bite to eat.

Inside NYC is a small Europe. 3-4 floor houses with some high rise. Extremely pleasant. Dont forget to visit the new Brooklyn park (not completely finished) under the bridge.

I'm from Brooklyn (no longer reside in NY) but every time I go, I have to take a stroll through Brooklyn Heights. Great tree lined streets with gorgeous brownstones, awesome restaurants and fab shops.

Brooklyn Heights has always been a great place to live. It has all of the charms of a small village - great shops and restaurants, The Promenade - yet it is justt over the bridge from Manhattan. What a great place to come to have lunch and a stroll.
