Didn't realize how close Brooklyn is to Manhattan by subway, or how pretty it can be. Upside: architecture, park (especially audubon center/zoo/skating/stables), restaurants (Al Di La!), boutiques, BAM, and Brooklyn Museum. We also liked that it was closer to Coney Island and within walking distance of the new stadium. Downside: Lacks the go-go energy and buzz of Manhattan.

This area is in the heart of Brooklyn when we were walking we got lost and ended up in Park Slope what a lovely surprise it was. Lovely town houses clean tree lined streets and nice high street with lots of restaurants. I loved this area it would be a good area to reside if you are staying longer in New York or even a week as it's not far from Brooklyn Bridge and surroundings.
I would highly recommend a visit.

Great neighbourhood, up and coming area. Varied selection of bars and restaurants. You need to do a little research as some areas industrialised. Well worth the effort.

I had heard that Park Slope was the up and coming place to be and be seen and that it was the new Manhattan. Not yet, You really do need to do your research if you are planning to stay in Park Slope as parts of it are highly industrialised and commercial and not very nice to stay. 7th Avenue is much more fun to explore than 5th Avenue and there is an amazing Wholefoods Organic Market on 3rd street which is just sensational. Good subway access.

had a fabulous meal at Talde and then another at their sister restaurant, PORK Slope(casual, burgers, que, wings and a GREAT BAR). Same folks have another place close by called Thistle Hill and my colleague went there and said it was fantastic....we're food people so take it to heart when we say definitely make these a stop on your trip!
