The Tompkins address above is for Peaches Hothouse, not the Peaches that is linked through its website (on Lewis). I believe they have the same owners. In any event Peaches Hothouse, in Bed-Sty is fantastic. The meals that you get for the price can't be found in NYC (or Brooklyn). The specialty is fried chicken but I love the catfish. Cornbread, greens, all good. Many folks order the hamburger. Went through a recent renovation. Looks great. Warm colors, two person tables, comfortable bar. Staff great. Hard to find anything like it anywhere nearby. Worth a trip there, especially for brunch on Sunday.

Went to try this place, suggested by a local friend, and was a so great surprise. Finally a place where to eat not the standard american food, Tried a black chicken, pork ribes, some delicious vegetables sides. All was tasty and light. Service was nice and they have a lot of good cocktail to drink after the dinner. If you are in Brooklin for an evening ... don't miss this place. The price is excellent too, around 25 dollars.

I've visited peaches for brunch and dinner recently and I enjoyed both outings for several reasons. The service is excellent and it's clear that management pays attention to the quality of staffing and the variety of American fare and soul food is absolutely wonderful. The kale as a side dish is an absolute must...as is the salmon and eggs for brunch! One serving of cornbread is sufficient for two persons as gnosh before your meal. You don't want to spoil your appetite! What is also charming about Peaches is dining with the local Brooklynites. Down home and down to earth -- very enjoyable.
