We had reservations at a Bed and Breakfast in Brooklyn and when we arrived on a late Saturday afternoon, we learned it had closed a month previous. We frantically began calling and looking on line for an inexpensive alternative and found out about Box House on Hotel Tonight app. Are we ever glad! First, the place has a hipster vibe without being gag-me hipster. Great art and really wonderful decorative touches in the lobby and each room. Beds were super comfy, even if the headboard was a tad creaky. Loved the little touches like books in each room and retro/mid century furniture. Great restaurant too. We especially appreciated the shuttle service to and from the subway. Parking is on street but we had little trouble finding a space. The hotel solidly built so don't worry about it being near the Pulaski overpass. We didn't hear this in your room, tho we did think it was thundering one morning--which it wasn't--but who minds the sound of thunder?! Will def. stay here next trip to NYC!

We have stayed here a number of times and it is an outstanding place. The building and its decor is fun to look at each time. The staff at the Bar are engaging, the food very good and the staff are always very personable and professional. Hats off to both of it drivers for their personal insights into the area. Great Place. And Great people

It was our first time in New York and I had so much about hotel rooms in NYC being tiny and claustrophobic so I was amazed when we got to the hotel and found our room to be so big, we might as well live in it forever. It was like an apartment even though we had gone for a “small” room without a kitchenette. It had a living room area with tv so you can eat takeout and watch a movie. Then there was the bedroom area with another tv for the lazy morning spent in bed. We had an amazing view of the city from the small balcony and a huge bathroom. The room provided enough privacy for a couple that’s about to get married. The Christmas decoration in the lobby was beautiful. There is a supermarket near by with loads at healthy snacks. It’s a little walk to the subway station, maybe 10 minutes. The hotel provides a shuttle service but we enjoyed the walk. There is a cool breakfast place near the station. From there, it’s like two stops to central station so it’s super easy to get wherever you wanna get in Manhattan super fast. The staff was so friendly. And just overall we felt super at home and will always remember the box house hotel as our NYC home. We also stayed in a fancy hotel in Times Square for a few nights after the ceremony, it can’t compare to the wonderful feeling the box house hotel gave us. We will love to come back.
