“A Must if you're in the area (in the winter)”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 2, 2013

I'm looking forward to trying the Flea now that it has moved back outdoors (East River State Park), but I wanted to add another shout out for the indoor wintertime Flea in the old Savings bank. With Barclays right around the corner and tons of other shopping nearby, this is a great stop during your visit to the area. The building is cool, you see all the old tellers and the vault and it has 3 stories of good vintage stuff. It is a unique experience that the mall just can't offer. And you may just find that special piece that speaks to you.

“Excellent shopping!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 25, 2013

In the summer, the flea market is at the waterfront. I've never been there in the winter, but it's definitely worth the trip in nice weather! The breeze off the water is very pleasant and there's a small green space nearby. The food vendors have a wide variety of tasty items. For shopping, we especially liked the vintage eyeglasses and unique jewelry.

“Brooklyn flea in wintertime”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 24, 2013

Wow! The location of the Brooklyn Flea on Saturdays in wintertime is just amazing. Located in the ground and basement levels of the old Wiiliamsberg savings bank building, now called 1 Hanson Place, a fabulous Art Deco cathedral to commerce which is a stunning environment for all the crafts, vintage clothes and antiques. Stalls weave in and out where home insuarance was once sold, and between the old bank tellers booths, and most dramatically in the old bank vaults in the basement where the steel doors can still be seen, massive works of engineers art amongst the old carpets and New York tee shirts.
And the market is great- a mix of vintage clothes, maps, toys, New York bits and bobs, jewellery old and new - check out the 1970's Elizabeth Taylor style bling of the first order; lots of intriguing stalls for any market lover. Next week is their last winter week before they move outside for the summer. An opportunity to see a wonderful Brooklyn landmark building and find some interesting purchases for your friends back home. I loved it.

“Close during Winter time”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 15, 2013

Hello. We went to Williamsburg flea market in March on Saturday. It was closed... :-( But the neighborhood is very cool. Have a walk (not before 11h) all around, lots of things to do and to see. Small shops completely different than Manhattan.
Don’t’ hesitate

“5 Tips for Shopping at Brooklyn Flea Market”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 27, 2013

From my trip to this place, I got several (hopefully helpful) tips for you:

#1. During winter, Brooklyn flea is held at 1 Hanson Place, which used to be a bank. Keep it mind people! So you will not have to waste your time wandering around the street of Brooklyn trying to figure out why the hell I could not find the market.

#2. This market is only open on weekend (Saturday and Sunday) from 10am to 5pm. Plan your trip right and just enjoy the market! Psst.. do not forget to haggle!

#3. Bring your cash! Some of the vendors (especially food vendors) do not accept card.

#4. I found that the prices here are higher than other flea markets. So if you are planning to shop frugally, then maybe this is not the place for you. Yeah.. it is more of a upscale market than the usual flea markets.
