Owner description: The Flea has expanded to a new site along the Brooklyn waterfront. Located between North 11th and North 12th Streets just North of East River State Park, the Sunday Flea features the same mix of vintage, antique, handmade, and food vendors as Fort Greene, and located in prime Williamsburg.

We visited on a saturday, this is an average north american flea market, lots of used clothes, jewelry . The food court had a lot of choices but I had concerns of food saftey, there was no visable refrigeration or hand washing facilities for the vendors.

We came to the Brooklyn winter flea market located at 1 Hanson Pl in a historic bank building. It was jam packed with vendors that ranged from small vintage furniture to handmade jewelry and toys and vintage clothes. There were oddly enough more than one vintage eyeglass frames vendor so if you want a cool pair of great condition eyeglasses or sunglasses you may want to hit up the Brooklyn flea. There is a food court in the bottom floor that is small but has great food. I was there early enough that I was hoping for coffee/tea or something breakfasty (aside from the incredible looking donuts that were being sold) but alas there was more lunch type sandwiches than anything.

They had some great clothing vendors with well curated items and the prices seemed reasonable. Great vintage costume jewelry was to be had at quite a few of the vendors also. I only bought one item which was a handmade doll in the shape of a raccoon for a friend who is expecting a baby, but there were tons of cool handmade things for sale all across this market.

For a winter market it rocked. Especially because the weather was atrociously cold and blustery outside. I am definitely going to come back in the spring/summer when the big flea is back on with all the food vendors I have heard so much about. But hey, this is a great place to spend a few hours on a Sunday especially if you are museumed out and want to do some shopping!

Wow! The food court! Fresh oysters, rice balls, tacos, chowder, and some crazy french desserts. All local and fresh! And cheap! Skip lunch and head down here.

We visited the Brooklyn Flea in the winter and it was held in 1 Hanson Place, which used to be a bank. The building itself is lovely and has a lot of it's original features inside and out, including the bank safe on the ground floor.

We had got on the subway from Manhattan and it didn't take long at all to get to Brooklyn and we also thought it was very easy to find!

We spent about a hour having a good look about and we also got something to eat downstairs, i had a blood orange doughnut and my husband had a pulled pork sandwich, both very nice!
