We were originally going to stay in Manhattan for our NYE trip to NY but found this reasonable, spacious apartment in Brooklyn on offer. So pleased we decided on it rather than Manhattan, as was so easy to get over to central NYC and Brooklyn's great. The apartment was very close to the metro and all amenities.
The apartment itself was so clean and full of all that was needed. Great to have a spacious living area, which we did not see in most of the other apartments when looking. The kitchen was fully equipped and we had all the towels, bedding, etc. that we needed.
Emma, the owner, was so communicative and helpful on emails and greeted us upon arrival with a ton of information that was really useful for our stay. Very reassuring to have Emma there for info and assistance.
Would thoroughly recommend staying in this apartment for its value for money, location, fab owner and superb apartment.
We loved this apartment in Brooklyn. Its on a good, safe street, 5 minutes walk away from subway station and has all the restaurants, coffee shops and supermarkets just round the corner from it.
Emma, the host, was very efficient at responding to my emails and this totally put my mind at rest to book. Every single email was answered and provided me with loads of information and advice. This was the main reason for booking.
Apartment was on the 1st floor, so there are around 12 steps up to the front door and a flight of stairs to the apartment. There is another apartment on the 2nd floor, but ours was
on the 1st. Very spacious apartment that could sleep up to 6, but there was only 2 of us, so this gave us ample space to move around. To be honest I don't think the photos on this website do it justice, it much prettier and cosier than it looks. It was spotlessly clean and we had soft fresh towels on arrival, that were changed mid week. Linen on bed was good for the time of the year we were there, however, there were more blankets and pillows if needed. Kitchen was fully stocked and equipped and had everything you needed should you want to cook a meal, but there are loads of good restaurants locally, so we never
used the kitchen equipment much, apart from the odd breakfast. However, fridge is massive and therefore if you wanted to, you could buy a week's shopping and fit it in easily.
Emma was there to greet us on our arrival and gave us information on the area, getting to the subway, coffee shops, restaurants, etc. There is a book in the apartment that also has all this information which we found very useful, as we went to most the restaurants that were recommended in the book. Emma is there if you need her, which was good to know and yet didn't intrude on our holiday. She kindly booked us a taxi back to the airport when we left and also saw us off.
Don't be put of by not being in Manhattan, its only 20 mins away by subway. Brooklyn is full
of character and we felt very safe and comfortable here. We got around very well on the subway from Franklin Avenue, even up to Bronx, Queens and down to Conney Island. The station is well serviced and subway isvery cheap to use. ($30 for a week pass).
This apartment comes highly recommended from us and we would gladly stay here next time we are in NY.
