We enjoyed this park but will wait until more things are completed before we go back. Our daughter enjoyed the carousel ($2) and we had nice snacks at Luke's Lobster and the Brooklyn Ice Cream Company, but there's a lot of construction in the area. The ferries from midtown and Wall Street made it very convenient.

Hidden gem!!! Fantastic views over Manhattan and such a cool place to chill out over summer with live music and outdoor entertainment. Try the Brooklyn Ice Cream Factory too!

One of the most easily accessible places for a great view of the financial district and NYC skyline from across the East River. We've been regulars in New York over the past several years but never got around to visiting this place until recently. When we did, we realized what we'd missed all these years. If a great view of New York is what you seek, this is a much better option than splurging your money on those touristy hotspots (Empire State, Top of the Rock). Easily accessible (walking distance from DUMBO and Brooklyn Heights, also reachable via subway from the Court St station), relaxed atmosphere, nice facilities around for kids and young adults to play and best of all, it's FREE. Also the Governor's Island ferry departs from Pier 6 in case you want to take a quick hop across (not that there's much to see over there).

My family frequently visits the the park. Every week it seems they open a new trail, pier, or add even more first rate amenities. After some years of construction, we are looking forward to the completion of the park. We have two small children and the park has something for everybody. Awesome playgrounds, a vintage carousel, a newly opened outpost for the legendary Ample Hills creamery, people watching, outdoor cafes, all sorts of sports and recreational activities, ferries into Manhattan, the walking bridge into Brooklyn Heights, movies on Thursdays in the summer, and of course some of the best urban vistas you could ever hope to find. Weekend afternoons can be pretty crowded with tourists (not that there's anything wrong with that)...but if you're looking to avoid the crowds and have an amazing experience, come over on a weekday morning when it's a pretty peaceful and very photogenic spot.

This is a lovely area, based around the Brooklyn side of the Brooklyn Bridge. Its a lovely Bay where you can chill out, theres Janes Carousel, the Ice Cream Parlour, and of course wonderful views across to Manhattan. GO!
