Chavela's was so popular at it's former location a few blocks away that they moved to this corner Franklin Ave location, but it still feels small. The brunch crowd queues outside the door of this attractive Mexican eatery. The walls are loaded with interesting artifacts and we had no problems with the servers. Food quality is consistently good. Based on my last visit, I can recommend the Huevos Ahogados and Chavella Omelette- both $11.95.

We got in after a flight and long cab ride, to our B&B, Chavela's was our next stop for lunch. A great menu, reasonable priced, good service, great food, nice atmosphere

Lived next to this restaurant for 10 days. Went there at day & night!
It's a nice restaurant, with an absolute beautiful decoration.
The food is great (love the guacamole and the soft tortillas) as well as the margarita!!
The only cons are: it is too packed. You have to keep your elbow inside the space of your very small square table. Not really easy to eat something with cutlery.
Also, but I guess that's a New York stuff, once you're done, the staff is nearly kinking you out.

Visited mid afternoon on a Friday in early June

Very friendly and fast service. Yet not rushed

I had a pork sandwich which was very good. My wife had chicken dish with a great sauce

Reasonably priced: a beer and a drink, guacamole appetizer (great guacamole), and two entrees around $50 with tip
