“Is posible to find better alternatives for the price”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 21, 2013

Nice attitude of the staf, very small rooms, a lot of noise from the public transportation around, cleaning in the rooms might be much better, and the neighborhood is ugly, convenient distance to the subway station, but if your plan is to spend time in Manhattan area, for sure is possible to find better alternatives with small price difference in the city.

The hotel was clean but spartan. The reception staff was warm and welcoming at all hours. The room was very small. The room could be improved by the addition of at least two hooks to hang up clothing and the placement of a shelf in the bath for toiletries. The hotel is located across the street from an active auto repair business, The street was crowded with many cars from that business; however the hotel was quiet. Parking is available at the hotel in an open lot at a minimal cost.

Very comfy stay. Staff was cheerful, prompt and helpful. Took care of all of our needs upon request. Props to the wait staff in the dining room for being not only accommodating, but entertaining. Rare combination: Tasty free breakfast!! Clean, modern and hip room filled with excellent music through excellent sound system. Easy subway access. Would definitely stay again.

GREAT POTENTIAL

Macopip’s review was pretty much right on!

Things I love:

• Super friendly staffs. The management did a great job hiring staffs that share same value, attitude and vision! Everyone was helpful and polite! It made me (and the other guests feel welcome and special).

• Quality breakfast! And they serve you!

• Nice modern décor all over. Great bathroom/shower area!

• Love the shampoo, soap and the lotion!!

• Near a subway station that goes into the city!

• I also LOVE the smell just outside of the lobby. On the day of my arrival, they had this amazing scent just right outside of the building. It was lovely! A great welcome!

This hotel has so much potential; they just need to work out the little details to really reach that next 5 stars level!

Things that can be improved:

• Lineups at the breakfast. I do appreciate the concept of the breakfast area where they serve you. It does make the guests feel special. But with only few waiters VS all the hotel guests. Sometimes you have to wait up to 15-20 mins to just get seated. Then another 10 mins before you can order. It would almost be better if they make it a buffet style. No lineup, same quality food. Perhaps this option will be more costly for them though because people will consume more food. This is just a suggestion for the hotel management to think about.

• Every thing is modern, chic and cool. However, paying attention to the little things will make a hug difference too. For example, the night desks next to the bed were dusty. The bed sheets looks amazing from the first glance, but close up, you will spot that it’s a bit worn out, have some spots or marks on it. Same for the towels.

• When you are sleeping, that’s when you will feel the rumbling movement from the subway. The bed shakes. It scared me a little at first. I thought it was several mini earthquakes. I don’t think the hotel can do something about it, but this piece of information is just something for you to be aware of.

Overall I would give it a great solid 4 stars. The super friendly staffs really made everything enjoyable! And that goes a long way! ☺

Room Tip: Lower floor so you won't feel the shaking from the subway. Go the breakfast early to avoid the...

My gf and I stayed at the hotel for four nights shortly after Labour Day.
First the good:
Hotel staff could NOT have been nicer. Extremely helpful at making restaurant reservations for us, printing out directions, etc. When the room they originally had for us proved unsatisfactory (there was a slight trembling every so often, due apparently to the nearby subway line, the young woman behind the desk made sure to put us on a floor where that was not an issue).
Breakfast: While you'll never mistake BPM's free breakfast for Tavern on the Green's, it has eggs, it has bacon, sausages, french toast, pancakes, fresh fruit, and decent (barely) coffee, as opposed to the usual continental breakfast crap you get at most hotels. And did I mention it's free?
Room: the room was slightly above average size for NYC standards. Bed was very comfortable, although the bed (king) had a decided slope on one side. Everything worked, you can get Netflix on the tv, the in-room snacks were modestly priced (i.e. what you'd pay at a convenience store, as opposed to the usual $6 for a Snickers bar that you'd usually find. Nice shower (water pressure not the greatest, but it was fine).
Price: thanks to a Groupon special, the room was $149 a night, plus a very reasonable $10 a night for self-parking. You simply won't find a better priced hotel in New York that's not a fleabag. A three minute walk to the D or N line, which is one stop from the Barclay Centre and 10 minutes to Wall Street. Neighbourhood is safe and quiet.
Now the not-as-good:
Breakfast: on two of the four mornings we were there, there was only one server to attend to about 20 people. Each of those two mornings, one of us was served about 10 minutes before the other (no exaggeration). That's not on the server, that's on the hotel for not hiring sufficient staff.
Neighbourhood: there is absolutely nothing to do in Sunset Pk. (where the hotel is located). No nice shops or nice restaurants, etc. It's not far away from nicer hoods, but still it would be nice to be able to stroll around.
Maid service: we were in a corner room, and each morning (and other times of the day as well), dirty towels and linens were dumped unceremoniously in a nook on the floor right next to our room. And there they sat for hours on end. Not in a hamper, mind you. Just dumped on the floor.
Wine: Yes, wine. As part of the Groupon deal, we were given a complimentary bottle of wine, either red or white. I asked what the red was, and was told it's a California Cab Sauv. Cool! So we got the red delivered to our room. Here is what it said on the label: Red Wine Product. Yup. Product. Like Kraft Singles, where they call it "cheese food product". It even listed the ingredients! If memory serves: grape juice, sugar, water, sulphites. Yum!!! Seriously, though, either give hotel patrons an actual bottle of wine (doesn't even have to be a GOOD bottle of wine) or don't, but don't give them koolaid disguised as wine. I mean, why bother?
Final thoughts: this is a hip little boutique hotel that is nothing terribly special but is very inexpensive, has some charm, is well situated (close enough both to the cool hoods in Brooklyn and to Manhattan via the subway) and has an extremely charming and helpful staff working for them. They have a few minor issues to clear up, but on the whole, we were pleased with what they had to offer.

Room Tip: Stay away from the 5th floor. The nearby subway line makes the room rattle a bit. Third floor is fin...

My husband and I stayed here for the weekend and we couldn't have been happier. The staff was extremely friendly and very helpful with directions, etc. The offered free drinks at the bar from 10-2 on Friday night and free breakfast every morning, however we didn't take advantage of this because there were so many places in Brooklyn we wanted to eat and drink. Room was very clean and have everything we needed. If we ever go to Brooklyn again we will absolutely stay here. Hight recommend!

BMP was great! The room was quite cool with the music/tv being piped in to the bathroom. The free breakfast was fine. The wine was marginal but a nice welcome touch. The place was very well kept. Very easy to get to public transportation. Over all I would recommend to my friends and family to stay at BPM. If we go back, we will stay there for sure. Thank you BPM staff for making our trip memorable.

Green Features: They practice environmentally friendly practices. I would have like to have a few more towels but it was not a big deal if you requested some.
