“Great place to stay”
Reviewed June 28, 2013

This hotel was conveniently located near the subway station. It was clean and the rooms were spacious. Breakfast was great changing everyday and cooked on request with the choice of buffet items too.

I stayed here for 4 nights and ventured into Manhattan everyday during this time. It is definitely worth paying less for a nice hotel like this in Brooklyn rather than paying extra to stay in Manhattan. The location of this hotel allows you to be in Manhattan in minutes and connect you with everything you may need to get to.

I'd definitely recommend staying here.

The only downside of this hotel is that there are no safes in the room. But they said the location was a very safe place to be in.

Stayed here on non-consecutive nights in June, and both times there were small problems. On the first night, the speaker in the room was broken, the elevator wouldn't stop on the main floor and the hot water took forever (10 minutes or so) to get going in the shower. On the second stay, the elevator was completely out at check in and the television didn't get all of the channels (not a big deal, though I do like my ESPN - and that was one of the ones out).

However, everything else about the place is great. The rooms were clean, public transit is close, the free wifi was fast and the smart TV apps (you can log in to your Netflix account through the television) worked wonderfully. While the surrounding neighborhood has little of interest, it's a decent walk or short car service ride to some great parts of Brooklyn. Like most NYC hotels in the sub-$200 price range, the room is likely a bit too small for extended stays or family vacations, but for someone looking for a comfortable, clean place to rest their head after a day in the Big Apple, BPM does the job quite well. I'll definitely be pricing them when planning future trips to the city.

I stayed for three nights while visiting family in Brooklyn. First trip to Brooklyn AND Hotel BPM and loved both! A very "hip" hotel - much more hip than I am, but they let me in anyway. My room was just great. Super comfortable bed, wide screen TV and a fantastic shower with overhead as well as hand-held shower head. One thing I would have liked to have is access to a computer with a printer- in the lobby, or separate room for the purpose of checking in and printing airline boarding passes. The front desk staff was going to do it for me but is was forgotten on a busy afternoon. Not a big problem - just waited until I got to the airport. The location is great - some have commented on the neighborhood, but it didn't bother me a bit, and you're just a short walk to the subway station. I was on the second floor facing the street and noise was not an issue. And yes, I would certainly stay at this hotel again!!

We found BPM while looking on the Internet for an affordable hotel (affordable in NY is just under 200$ / night...) in New York, with parking space as we had a rented car. The location of BPM, few steps away from a subway station (and of course a Subway sandwich place!) with available parking space (20$ / night, it would be great if it was cheaper or even free). The hotel is nice, music welcomes you even before entering the small reception area. There's no lounge in this modern, functional hotel. The staff is very kind. There was a small elevator problem and they apologized about that. Breakfast is included, good french toast and reasonable buffet (breakfast is complimentary). Room was clean, well equipped. Excellent WiFi speed (for free), WC/shower functional and ergonomic. The only (small) problem was the window "black out", it was not a real "black out" as light could enter the room. This due to modern roll up curtains.
I do recommend this hotel for visiting New York.

Room Tip: Depending on your schedule, do the extra effort and try to select a room with suitable orientation...

I stayed in the BPM for 8 weeks on and off on business and I have not one complaint.
The staff are friendly, cool and helpful.
Breakfast was very good.
The rooms are clean, sharp and well thought out.
Ideally located for the subway into Manhattan(station only 3 minute walk away) and only a 20 minute stroll to the trendy bars and eateries in Parkslope.
I've stayed in some much more expensive hotels in Manhattan, but they don't come near the service and friendliness you receive at the BPM.

Green Features: Good to see a hotel pushing green issues. The bottled water idea in the evening is great, glass bottles, re usable, less waste.

Excellent stay over at the BPM. Friendly staff checked us in (David and a woman who's name starts with an L (can't remember... :( )). Got free sunglasses on the way in, and after instagramming the owner (who is a DJ) got free t-shirts with his DJ name on it.

Room was music equipped. Speaker in the bathroom was broken, but the Bluetooth stereo and selection of free jamming stations was welcome.

Free drinks at night (9-1am) was awesome. We were the only guests partying mostly, but the DJ played some on-point hip hop.

Overall, a rather inexpensive stay at a place full of music character. Jammin'.
