“Good Bakery in Cobble/Boerum Hill Brooklyn”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 5, 2013

There are a few good places to Coffee and baked goods on Smith Street. The recently opened, oddly named, Bien Cuit (a branch of the Greenwich Village spot) is one of the better ones. The Coffee is excelllent, the array of baked goods ($$$) is splendid and tempting. Their croissants are every bit as good as many I have had in France. The music is low and the few tables are well spaced. Pass by Starbucks and stop by Bien Cuit.

“20 minute wait for a cup of coffee....it was good coffee”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 3, 2013

Went to the new Bien Cuit today at 35 Christopher Street New York. Great looking place with one staff member only to serve everyone. I waited for 20 minutes to get 2 croissants and a baugette. I wanted to try them so I waited.Out of their almond croissants at 11 AM, ok ok I guess I can understand that.BUT 1 server to take care of everyone. Many people walked in waited a few and walked out. I counted 8 people that walked out while I was waiting.I was 3rd in line. The person that was being served when I walked in did not receive his whole order when I walked out 25 minutes later. Lots of patience needed here. WARNING: One croissant is $5.25.

“great food but the space is wanting (christopher st location)”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 17, 2013

bien cuit features a superb Brooklyn roasted drip coffee, and an almond croissant that is superior to francois payard by a long shot—better almond paste (in flavor and texture, and more fulsome)—and the flaky pastry is richer, more buttery, albeit with less shatter as a result. Servers are friendly and attentive.
The only down side is the room itself, which is populated by unbelievably pretentious patrons with obnoxiously self-absorbed conversations/behavior, who rub elbows with wifi hobos that spread out over all of the 2-tops in the shop. dropped in here twice over three days, and the scene didn't change, morning or afternoon.

“Bien Cuit in Christopher Street in New York”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 15, 2013

Bien Cuit have opened a branch in Christopher street , between 6th and 7th Ave .
Their breads and croissants are simply delicious!
The coffee is excellent served in real cups .
An old fashion place , where they don't rush you ,and you can read the newspaper or catch up with your mail., without being rushed.
